Great controlled sparring session with many techniques thrown in not the usual one two and both keeping your composure when the pressure is put on.

This is awsome to see. I am currently working towards my first black belt after 3 years and my kumite is still lacking and feels like I am just flapping around like a dying fish. Seeing it like this makes me realize that I am on the right track and that some karate fights you see and aspire to are just fantasy. Keep it up. Oss

3 great rounds! This allows you to go slow and concentrate by isolating the hands and the legs. Fantastic! I want to see more of that. Thanks senseis

Geeze john. You trained him so well he beat you in kicks only. Kids tricky man. Slick slick fakes. Ive been using his fake spin to roundhouse. Got to watch again. His abductor strength is off the hook nat kept the leg up to rethrow too impressive most impressive. You gotta get him into fighting cage or something even his hands are good. Johns hands are way better but Nat truly has the kicks 10/10. Super impressed. Ive sparred alot. I like full gear for full contact. Ill say this, you woulld both be very very difficult to beat even for high level mma guys. I hope you know how good you guys are.

What gi's do you recommend? I have a student Blitz gi (7oz 65% poly 35% cotton), it's basically mustard colour now after only 8 months because I sweat yellow apparently. I was looking at these 'lightweight' kumite gi's with ventilation like Blitz Kamakiri or Adidas Kumite Fighter. What do you think? Sorry that's totally unrelated to the video which was great btw.

Alsp excellent foot work and side stepping. Get him some bjj. Kids gonna be unstoppable under john. Wow this is almost not karate, its modern karate gosh look at the head movement and hands too. Kicks i expect but the hands were really good, good defense.

@@KAZE0707 Yeahh thank you for the advice!, I have no problem at punch techniques since i almost master them but i lack at footwork which limits my ability on kumite and i suck on side kicks. Cool You dont have a problem on punches anymore since you do boxing

Is there a reason neither of you throw quick straight front kicks? I'm a total novice but I find they catch even my Sempai out if his guard is high. No chance of catching my Sensei though he's way too good 😅
@jkgardiner
@jkgardiner 6 ай бұрын
I like to use a front kick as well, but the kind of foot pads I was wearing make them a lot more difficult to land correctly, you have to make it more of a push with these on.
