Still to this day, I've had my best BB game in the Gneisenau. And I have absolutely no idea how. The games where I've struggled with it far outweigh the good. The same can be said for all my German BBs. 😞

Gneisenau is the perfect définition of being able to survive in the midst of chaos as the game you played just prooved it: decent speed and shells velocity, torpidoes and decent armor protection. It’s a fuck** nice flanker!! 😁🔥

When I first saw the Gneisenau I was so excited to play it since it was a battleship with torpedoes. I spent GXP little did I know that I was going to hate that ship and would never get to use the torpedo since I would die while rushing in (I wasn’t a good player back then)

Gneisenau was quite the slow but easy grind for me, kinda like Bayern and Tier 4 Konig. Also, I just casually NUKED a full hp New York with California. Big hips sink ships.

Good game and you were down one ship as the DD was AFK that whole match, I played several matches today and 3 AFK players so far, I wish we could report AFK as AFK not, as griefing. griefing is just WG way of lets players vent but they do nothing I bet.

The Gneisenau in my Opinion is better than Bismarck since it seems to have a weird big bonk when you aim at the waterline against any enemy warship.doesn't seem to happen with other German ships.also at long range this thing can dodge like hell.all it takes is a drop in speed and sudden turning :D

I had a 70% WR over 80 battles in the Gneisenau and plenty of 100k+ damage carries. I don't really get why everyone shit talks it. I'm even considering getting Scharnhost because I liked it so much.

Hi Spartan, today i had a game on my Friesland AA build with 70 planes shutdown, the enemy CV (a Kaga) all game focusing me and still sending planes, CV rework is just so broken, a CV sending more than 80 planes in a game is ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️, idk, but the game before was better without CV rework

A lot of people sleep on this cause it always seems to be the most inaccurate ship in the game. It’s just something to bridge the gap between Bayern and Bismarck, which is a shame considering history.

I don't get along with German bb's in general but this thing...ugh....was pure sadness trying to grind to Bismarck which I'm not a fan of in this game either, I just wanted it for historical reasons. To this day I'm still trying to figure out what this ship is supposed to be good at. It's technically a battlecruiser so it's armor is pretty sus and it has a lot of hp in it's superstructure, it's 6 gun with german dispersion so it can't hit anything, the guns are undersized for the tier plus german pen angles so it can't pen anything, it's torpedoes are very underwhelming and short range, plus the secondaries are very meh, so it's a struggle to survive long enough to use them and brawling is not a good idea. I will say it's relatively fast and maneuverable so it can occasionally steer out of trouble which is good because there will be that. I guess it can be a cruiser hunter but but with such mediocre guns it's hard to punish them consistently. I've had very few good games in this ship, but I've had a few.

My words... I couldn't take it anymore and just skipped that ship straight to bismarck... Your only hope is going full accuracy with hyde or hipper while slapping al scharnhorst as inspiration and whatever else to boost it even more.

poor spartan. to me, its torture to play the german t6 bb's, especially Gneisenau. horrible accuracy and no quantity to make up for it 🤮 and then you play against t7 bb's and you feel like sitting in a cruiser 🥶 on top, my matchmaking is apocalyptic these past weeks. I dont get why people like pvp. Its just not fun, everyone playes hide and seek and you get spammed with torpedoes and aircraft. Vs AI is much more relaxed and you can just play however u want. Sadly it does give a nice payout. Hopefully they add asymmetrical battles, that shit used to be so much fun on pc.
