Spartan, 2000 damage standard for the HE-shells is amazing for a DD! Only the Japanese high tier torpedo boats (2150) and the French (2240ish) are higher. And with the exception of a full gun build Hayate none of those ships can get the reload down to 3.1 sec. The US ships (Fletcher, Sumner, Gearing) have the same damage at 2000 and a better reload, but no radar or sonar. So usually in a direct DD vs DD gun fight Split is the hands down favorite in any engagement.

In most DDs, especially ones with ineffective AA fire, I turn the AA guns off until I'm spotted. AA fire can clue in a carrier's planes to where you are before it spots you.

It's a Le Fensaque hull and I think they saturate quickly just like the French counterpart. That might be why you weren't taking as much damage

The 140mm guns are great. Good he pen and good fire chance. The new destroyers are fun. Also thr blyscawica got buffed so its alot great now too

Based on my best understanding capture point gives +3 every 5 seconds. So your point gain is 36 points per minute from a single held cap. At 25:15 you’re down by 124 points. However contesting stops them gaining so you’re gaining points by the one cap until you finish capping in 55seconds. By the time you cap you will have caught up by 33 points and be down by 91. Then you’re ticking 3caps to 1 meaning you gain 2 full caps of points so you catch up by +6 every 5 seconds. In the final 2 minutes you will catch up an additional 144 points meaning you’d end the game up by +53. So you would have easily won by simply capping though I understand it’s hard to make this judgement during a game. Definitely something critical to know as a DD main where winning by points is usually your only option. GGs tho for getting the glory kill

I did what was needed to win.. once I saw that it was 2 cruisers and a DD I knew I couldn't help there so I went for the enemy base and carrier while attacking new jersey on the way. In the end I did everything I could to give us the win

I got the Split on my first crate...imagine my immense shock at landing a Tier 7 destroyer. What is perfectly odd is that standard camo for the Split which is clearly a celebration of trees...it's almost ridiculous. ...which got me to thinking that a lot of players, who are deeply rooted in their favorite ships may branch out with the Split because the Split's bite is certainly worse than its bark. Anyone who doesn't like the Split is clearly a sap. I'd say more but it's time for me to leave.

@@ConnorBledz No, she went down due to half the British fleet blasting the hell out her at point blank range while the Germans were trying to scuttle the ship until a cruiser finally had to close in and torp the crap out of her. To put into perspective how silly the idea of a destroyer gunning down a battleship is, the USS Hornet, an aircraft carrier with almost no armor, was crippled by air attack that included multiple bomb and torpedo hits along with two Val suicide attacks, but still afloat and abandoned. The US Navy decided to sink her by shelling her with 5in guns from the nearby destroyers. Something like 500 rounds later they gave up and retreated as more Japanese planes were incoming. It took another salvo of Japanese torps to finally sink her. Yeah, I know, it's a game. But it's still silly that in a gun duel it's the battleship running for it's life in the video.
