Is there any way you can explain what is a proper angle and what is over angled? I have played this game on the PC going back to closed beta but I am not one of the sweat lords who memorizes all these little details. Also I know there is a formula for overmatch, can you explain that. That is another one I am not sure of so my general rule of thumb is head on to a battleship I shoot for super structure regardless of what BB I am in and I am sure I am cheating myself out of some scoring opportunities.

How overmatch works is you take the size of your gun and divide it by 14.3. The number you get is the armor thickness that your guns will penetrate regardless of angle. As for learning how to angle, a lot of it comes down to experience. The more you play, the better of an idea you will get for how to angle properly against certain ships.

So question. Just received the Arizona in a spectral 2 crate. Is Takahashi Hoshino with Ruchang and di Revel a decent alternative. It's my highest level BB commander which I use for my BA Montana. Which by the way is brutally amazing. Also, how and where do you see the caliber difference between artillery? I don't see the caliber of guns in profile for either ships. Or any for that matter.

I love Arizona. Last time I played it, however, I got destroyed by the most accurate Mutsu I have ever seen. He hit me with multiple shells from every single volly he fired except for a singular volley that I managed to make him miss. I was hopelessly outclassed.

@SpartanElite43 I disagree. I have never seen this. This exchange took place mainly at max range. I was struggling to land even just three of twelve shells with my AL Colorado build, but he was landing more shells from fewer guns from a friggin' Mutsu! He was... almost impossibly accurate. I have no idea how he did it.

I've got both and find myself taking the thicc girl out more often, simply because of the prevalence of CVs at the tier. With her AA and torp protection, she's usually the better choice. The downside is of course that she's got a massive superstructure and those HE flinging cruisers tend to feast on her.

Hyuga’s my favorite T5. It doesn’t have overmatch like WV and Warspite, but the guns are still consistent and great and it’s really tanky. Fuso is really tanky as well if you play it correctly.

I've been playing Nevada since they created that ship counter skin, btw I'm at 374 on that counter. But when I see an Arizona when I'm in the Nevada I slap that thing around all the time but when I see a California I steer clear because that thing slaps me all the time.

Its funny how calibers differ from small arms to artillery. With small arms the calibers .45 and .50 refer to their bore diameter (11.5mm & 12.7mm) and with the naval guns the caliber refers to the barrel length as a mulitiple of the bore diameter. Cali 356mm ×50=17.8 meter long barrel AZ 356x45=16.02meters Iowa 406x50=20.3 meters & SD 406x45=18.27 meters Very odd that they use a unit of measurement as a mulitiple of another.

I don't have either Cali or Arizona, but I do have West Virginia, and she is one of my best performing ships. I have over 300 battles in her with a 72% win rate and an average damage of 90k

My div mate is an AZ native, I'm a CA native. We absolutely love playing these ships together. 😂 I brawl anything close, he snipes. I provide aa coverage, he...looks pretty getting dropped on 😂😂😂😂. Honestly, I like the ca better of the 2. Put Robert Jauard and sharnhorst on my azure lane Colorado and it's deadly. Citadel after citadel. 😂

It's a tier 6 BB that was angled well and has no Superstructure to farm.. so yeah Me tanking his shots so we'll when I got him to shoovlbelbelt is what makes Arizona so good

Yeah imo Cali is best BB in the game. It's Kansas at T5. Just an absolute monster. I think my personal damage record in it rn is 188k... and i feel like I get at least 100k every time I take it out. Honestly, if you're on the opposing team to a Cali and you get spotted by it, just run away.

No just no Cali is better in every single way. The only thing that is worse than Arizona is speed and it’s only 0.5 knots Cali has more range dpm aa alpha hp torp protection sigma better conclment turn circle so there is really no argument cvs or not

They have same turning circle but Arizona has better firing angles and on Legends i believe they have the same 1.8 sigma However Arizona has a slightly better overall max dispersion. The biggest difference for me is in the citadels generated by the slightly slower shells of the Arizona which is why I prefer her

Crazy to say this out of all my American bb ships I will take my Colorado over any including my iowa. Willis Lee as my commander. Secondary build with a reach out aa and seconds also. Seconds will hit at 6km and with The secondary boost they hit hard. Have running with scissors so within 5km 15% dmg boost. I think I have a fire reducer not quite sure. A few other things I can’t remember. Compared to my Iowa I can take so much more dmg. My last game I tanked a North Carolina and a Bismarck . Angle than swing out after they fire swing back.

Bro, as a regular CV player, I can tell you that if you know what you're doing in a CV, you can dumpster any and every California you encounter. AA is worthless at any tier below 7. I go out of my way to delete Californias I meet just to prove a point. Dump your torps or skip bombs from range and all the AA in the world won't stop you. California is literally the slowest ship at the tier and this weakness is easily exploited. It's a free kill for any torp DD player, and CVs just have to work a tiny bit harder than DDs to embarrass Californias in the same exact way.
