Lots of things can happen, perhaps the previous owner passed away and the gun was left in a less than excellent storage because nobody knew or cared to take care of it.

These shotguns are cool as hell. It's a shame Franchi don't make them anymore, but they aren't exactly competitive I suppose. It'd be cool of they sold the guns and replacement parts on custom order, these things are movie and videogame history. Optionally if they sold off the tooling.

Not saying this is the case but, just know that there has been a recent trend where people take perfectly fine items, then fake the restoration by accelerating the rust/wear process then pretend that it was "abandoned" and found in this state. I'm not saying this channel does it...just some food for thought.

This really does look like the classic "fake rust something and restore it back" scam you see so many other restoration channels perform. You even point out the "fake" aluminum corrosion on the receiver. Oh well, it's still cool to see the disassembly.

yeah i felt that too, but there's also damage that cannot be easily reproduced and there's also very common damage from usage maybe he added some extra wear for dramatic effect, but still is a genuine restauration

It's a shame that the SPAS-12 didn't make it. If one used full power rounds to shoot it, it would have cycled properly. But the under powered bird shot loads caused the jamming. The worst thing about it was that safety when it was activated it caused it to misfire if there was a live shell in the chamber. The gun had a lot of potential, and since it's debut on terminator it seemed to have a secure future, but it was not meant to be.

Please be aware the flip safety lever has been known to fail. It will cause the weapon to discharge without even touching the trigger!! I suggest you upgrade it to push type safety. I have spoken.

@@jasonjavelin Only around 30000 examples of the SPAS-12 were ever made, and not many examples these days still have the original flip-safety (Though for a good reason, there was a chance it could set off a shell in the chamber due to component wear). To do this to a firearm with so relative few examples in the entire world is demon's sin.

Nice work on the Restoration. I was noticing the Heatshield and the Stock being a little lighter during your video. Trust me when I was saying to myself. "Isn't that suppose to be a little darker?" At the end of your video. You shown the differents. To be quite honest with you. You did a GREAT job on the SPA restore. She is a prime example of a EXCELLENT restore.

how much I watch the video and it’s constantly interesting, here’s a weapon, it always has bluing or other types of protection against corrosion, erosion, or just rust. If the weapon is not looked after, small spots of rust may appear in places where there could be scratches, but how can it completely rust as if it was specially kept in an aggressive environment
