Yeah i agree with you. He was wasted thought, he had the potential to really be able to challenge Naruto on an ideology standpoint. With Danzo standing for the old world, that the shinobis acted as they used to, while Naruto stod for the new world. He should have worked well as a second Zabuza, a person that should challenge Naruto's naive world view really well. But in the end Kishimoto choice to use him as scapegoat for everything wrong in the world.

Danzo never forced itachi to do anything. Unlike Danzo, Sasuke's eyes never truly understood Itachi. He's lust for revenge is making him irrational and psychotic. Look at this way, your governor gave you the choice to either kill your community who where planning to unjustly revolt and overthrow the state, and afterwards the country itself, resulting in a civil war. Or attempt to overthrow the state and die with them in vain. If you choose to join your community, you will certainly die, tarnishing your community's legacy forever with no redemption. Not to mention the person you hold dear closest to will die, along with everyone else in that community. If you choose the state, mayhem and destruction would be avoided. The loss of innocent lives lessened by a large degree. The person you hold so very dear, more than your own community's selfish agenda will be kept safe. I like Itachi. He's an amazing character I can sympathize with. But these hardcore fanboys who dick ride him to the extreme make me hate him. Sad isn't it?

Gazz 1 Orochimaru wanted to take over an actual uchiha's body so he could wield full control over the sharingan. Although someone not from the uchiha clan can have sharingan implanted and be able to use them, their bodies aren't naturally compatible with the eyes. As a result, it's exhausting for them to use the sharingan, and controlling the sharingan's abilities is extremely difficult. Kakashi, for example, despite being an extremely talented shinobi, didn't master kamui until his adult years. And even then, it takes a lot out of him with each use.

Ah Izanagi, the final clue that the Sharingan is absolutely B R O K E N as fuck! The ability to erase reality just to go blind, it’s an extremely ridiculous power. Izanagi (and Izanami) were the parent and creation gods of Shintoism, Izanagi fathered Susanoo, Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi after cleansing himself from his visit to the Underworld, where he tried to retrieve his dead wife Izanami but then fled from her since she had eaten food from the underworld and had become one with the land of the dead - appearing decayed and rotten. Danzo’s extra trick is the Hashirama cells, allowing him to use Wood Style too. They say it’s the final blow, but this is anime, how often is it really the end when they say ‘This is the end!’

Danzo wanted the Uchiha clan dead because he didn’t want anyone to take control of the Nine Tails the way Madara did, he was also paranoid that Shisui would use the Mangekyo against him after he volunteered to use it on Fugaku to stop the planned coup (which he engineered by ostracising the Uchiha to the village outskirts) which he felt could not be solved diplomatically. Haku’s Ice-Style users, the Kaguya and Uzumaki clans were wiped out because of their powers, which is far fetched since they pale in comparison to the Uchiha Kekkei Genkai

But I still agree that the Uchiha problem was handled incredibly poorly. No proper compromises or compensation. Could have given Fugaku a higher ranking seat or not socially ostracise the clan for an incident that they didn't commit. In the end the main problem was the distrust raised against them. I think Danzo and the elders are pretty incompetent in handling matters in a non-violent way.

Srikrishna Bhat SPOILER!! I agree that it could have been handle better but with each passing minute the leaf put its citizens in danger by reacting instead of acting. The Uchiha would have struck. Danzo and the elders are not to blame. They came with the conclusion that the Uchihas orchestrated that attack since all evidence points to the Uchiha. The only ones capable of manipulating the Nine Tails. If it wasn't for Obito attacking the leaf, the Uchihas would still be alive, and I believe the little tension they had with the leaf would have been resolved. But no, things escalated because of Obito. The blame can be traced back to Madara for influencing him. And Zetsu for manipulating Madara. You get the point.

Unfortunately, KZbin has gotten very liberal in handing out of community guidelines strikes, sometimes just over things that are discussed in a video. We had a couple of conversations that were - to me - quite tame and interesting, but I fear that KZbin would have felt differently.

And there you have it Curtis, the real reason Danzo went out of his way to destroy Shisui Uchiha and absolutely guarantee that Itachi's only options were civil war or killing the Uchiha. Good of the village? My ass, he did it all for a cool arm jutsu, so he could eventually grab the Kyubi out of Naruto and use it to beat the Leaf into submission. Nice guy Danzo.
