N54 engines are great engines, you can prevent problems with these engines by taking your time find the week points of these engines from oem and replace them with more reliable and sturdy parts. I've owned my bmw n54 for 2 years now i have replaced many parts before the became a problem and i only need to do normal servicing on the engine. Maintenance first then performance , keep a minimal tune and dont beat on the car 24/7 until you have fixed the week points then you will have a amazing engine.

These 335I are amazing performance cars which will also teach someone the basics on maintaining a car. The n54 is a good motor, very stout, and most examples now have had the teething issues sorted out. The N55 motor is fantastic.

I'm glad y'all broke down at BMS Tuning, because if that had been me I would've been replacing the coils and plugs chasing my tail before I would've thought of the ECU injector drivers going bad. I've had them go bad in my Honda ECUs before and it drove me nuts!

I miss my n54 . Gonna get me one again next month . An do this mod . Don't know why everyone say it's unreliable . I drove it 280km per hour for a 1500 km road trip . Kept it at max speed for a third of that trip . Never had a issue . I always drove it hard

N54 power 💪. On mhd and e85 it'd be even better. Also, the car needs m3 or solid rear subframe bushings.

Never noticed your subscriber count until now. I guess the changes to the channel from last year are really paying off. Congratulations.

Definitely diggin the build! Only thing I would do differently is I would go MHD instead of COBB for my tuning. Just a simple search on the topic and you'll get a laundry list of all the benefits of MHD vs COBB, other than that you guys have a solid build! I particularly love the headlights! Completely transforms the car to a more modern look!!! I need those on my 335i e90!

I upgraded my 2009 335I N54 with cone Air intakes, 5" intercooler, aluminum charge pipe. upper and lower M3 control arms, new cold pack coils, index 12 injectors. I noticed more immediate power. will add cat backs pipes. I still want to maintain California smog standards.

something cool to try is a TCU Tune, xhp has a ots tune, and there is a tuner Sutphin Tuning, that makes custom tunes. I've run both in my e90 335d, which I know is different, but Sutphin's tune feels better on daily driving as it's a custom map with the correct tq ramp per your dyno and so on.

Think about it, you upgrade the intakes, and get a proper MHD tune with a trans tune and inlet pipes. You’re making 400whp or very very close to it. N54 is the best bang for buck performance motors out there. Even in 2022 they are imagine motors. Good job 👍🏻

I think a series/playlist of these types of builds could draw in some good views for you guys. 335i, STi, 350z/370z, Focus ST, BRZ, Mustang GT, GTI, etc. These are the popular used cars to mod and I think would get you guys popping up in more KZbin searches.

great work, amazing car, after owning my 335Xi since 2008 and having 2 S54, 1 S55 and 2 M20 I have to say they amazing robust car, if you CAN effort to maintain them, if you beat the crap out of them and no oil change or coolant left in you motor.... anyways I had all the joy with this cars, of corse I taken them to Bmw for maintenance and some of work my self, N54 Monster, and one of my M20 has 520K Km on if ....as a daily I love this cars.
