When he said "Had a read about it WE NEED THIS" tipical racecar owner!

+Alberto Pettine we always forget to do the pedal dance or even push the off button on the console, so the Beastronix PD86Nanny is exactly what a couple numnuts like us need to ensure the e-nannies don't spoil the fun.

the FR-S looks awesome guys! Thanks for clarifying the "street legal harness" reasons too!
@speedacademy9 жыл бұрын
+1dickycat Thanks, we really dig the street legal harnesses. A perfect addition to any street car that is seeing track time.
@hkn_r349 жыл бұрын
Livery looking good, not overdone like most people do, clean and simple I like it! Splitter will for sure help and make the front look much more aggressive. That system looks very smart, too bad FR-S made it so hard in the first place to disable everything. Great video as always, looking forward to the next track day video!

+KoNLaRz All the new cars have so many driving nannies that it makes us wonder whether we're actually fully in control. Good thing we know now the FRS is completely in our hands :)

Love the color scheme! I'd recommend getting the calipers completely painted in that neon yellow color to finish off the look. When you're taking pictures or video of the car on the track, the calipers will stand out behind the dark wheels and it'll look amazing
@speedacademy9 жыл бұрын
+maximus9401 That would be a great touch! We're short on time right now but after our Ontario1500 event we may just do that.

+Gough Greer-barry It's always great when we get to go test the mods we've made. Thats the part of the job we love the most.
@UIMcocodog7 жыл бұрын
the deal with the harness is just in case anyone was wondering. seatbelt submarining is when your body slides down the seat under the harness, causing the lap strap to ride up off your hips and into your gut (very very bad for your internals). in a 5 point the crotch strap prevents this and in a 3 point it lets your upper body go first, using the shoulder strap to tightening down on the lap strap. its the same idea with the 4 point asm, that extendable part lets your upper body go first which throws the lap strap into your hips at an angle where it cant ride up any higher.

+duane willis Soon! The cracked subframe turned out to be a huge debacle, you'll see why in an upcoming video.
@atraxr6039 жыл бұрын
That strap that gives way is so when you crash it turns your body towards the inside and dampen the impact a bit. Livery looks pretty cool, it's not overdone. I loathe overdone liveries... Love the wheels tho, they look really good on the FRS. Keep up the great work guys!

I also wrapped my mirror caps. I took the caps off the car and wrapped around the edges so when the wrap tries to contract it wont pull away from the edges. But my car is white so its really noticeable. Looks good though I like it!

+MNachtigal hmm, that's a good tip! We'll have to see if the mirror caps are removable on the FR-S.

Would you guys consider it safe to run this harness without a cage or roll-bar since it's street legal? It would only be used when on track.
@C42ST3N9 жыл бұрын
For road legel harnesses i would stig with schroth. They have the only street legal 4 (or more) point harness with a legal centre lock.
@speedacademy9 жыл бұрын
+CF88DRUM These Takata harnesses are fully street legal and the seat belt is a big reason for that because in the case of an accident a paramedic or normal person will know how to unlatch you, with a center lock they may be confused how it operates.
@C42ST3N9 жыл бұрын
+Speed Academy Take a look ate the Schroth Profi II FE ASM centre lock. If some does not know how to open that he shouldn´t be able to know how to breathe. www.schroth.com/gfx/dyn/produkte_daten/gross_450/40/2.jpg

+CF88DRUM Haha, yeah that one looks to be perfect for street use too! Good to see that there are several options for street legal belts out there.

I am curious to what the car weighs now.. any estimation on weight, or chance of weighing it in the future?
@PeterTarach9 жыл бұрын
+stonekrs1 We think it's very close to stock weight, 2,700lbs. The interior probably removed about 30-40lbs but the cage added some back and so does the supercharger system.

@Marcking987 жыл бұрын
can I have those green takata plz...?
@umaireg69 жыл бұрын
i like your episodes but why you would boost a frs over a s2k is beyond me. that motor is garbage compared to the f20.
@speedacademy9 жыл бұрын
+umaireg6 That's why it needed boost! The S2k engine is already making good power NA but the FA20 needs more juice and the supercharger is the perfect answer for reliable power gains.
@georgecastanza8349 жыл бұрын
Please do a video to shut these BRZ FRS owners where you compare lap times of an NA S2000 to a TURBO FRS/BRZ... anything to justify paying 25k for 200BHP LOL
@bossvitorcunha9 жыл бұрын
+S2k2014 they didnt pay 25k for 200bhp, they paid 25k-(car value) for handling and fast lap times. not rawwwww pawarrrr
@shadowsaiyan9 жыл бұрын
+S2k2014 Last time they ran the ass2000 at the track, it ran like 1:20. The FRS with the supercharger now runs the course in like 1:15... I prefer the S2k, but it's currently outgunned BIG TIME.
@speedacademy9 жыл бұрын
+duane willis we didn't actually run a 1:15 in the FRS, that was a lap timer glitch that we had a little fun with. But the FRS should be a bit quicker than the ass2k given its power advantage at the moment. They're both hugely fun to rip at the race track.
@shadowsaiyan9 жыл бұрын
Ahhh, thanks for clarifying that. On a side note - I'm glad I stumbled onto this channel, it's quickly become a favorite of mine. I always enjoyed your editorials and work over at Modified.
