Sorry it took so long to get this one up. I filmed part of this a while ago. Enjoy.

One thing you didn't mention, with this dual SPDT circuit its completely safe to energize both relays at the same time. As if some one presses a lock button while some one else is pressing the unlock button. The is because both sides of the solenoid become hot and thus no shorts a cure. :)

I have an existing car alarm installed. My alarm has 1 siren, which is dead from age. I ordered 2 sirens and they should be here soon. I just have a couple questions: My alarm only has 1 siren output, so can I use an SPDT relay to install the 2 sirens? If so, would it make more sense to connect the relay directly to the battery with an inline fuse or should I try to connect it to the factory fuses under the driver's side of the dash? Lastly, there are 2 wires leading from the alarm output and connected to the dead siren; + and -. I guess the + wire would go to the relay, but what about that - output wire that's connected to the siren? Thanks for any help.

Most alarms can easily drive two sirens without need for any relay. Should you use one, you need to verify which one of the siren leads is the "switched" lead and which one is not and this will vary by brand. Some alarm siren outputs are positive with the other side of the siren connected to ground and other alarms use a negative output with the other side of the siren connected to +12V.
