we don't need to be a native speaker because many people don't understand if you said all the time, it's annoying, but be ''normal'' and understand what they talking about, it's a great avanced you did it. :)

Hi Keith. I do not have your address or email to thank you directly, so I make a comment below your latest video. Firstly, I really appreciate your teaching and guidance throughout my speaking journey. It really helps me a lot when I was preparing for my IELTS speaking. Most importantly, you are so kind! You provide an abundance of useful resource freely! My last IELTS speaking source was 6 in 2020. I found your videos on KZbin and kept learning after 2 months. I got 7.5 in my second IELTS speaking result in the May examination. I really like how you pause for a while to pretend that you are the teacher on the spot and listen to our speaking during your videos. Thank you for your patience. I will continue to learn from you!

I am so glad to see this being explained! I've been teaching it for the past 15-20 years in China, ever since a student questioned why the words I was saying didn't sound like the pronunciation in her dictionary. I compiled a booklet that I used every year with new English majors at my university. Now I'm at an IELTS training school where the Chinese teachers are unaware of this as well, and unfortunately don't realize it is a valuable thing for me to teach students. This helps validate my argument that it not only helps students sound more natural/fluent when speaking, but also helps them change how they listen to English, improving their listening comprehension.

Dont worry about that .Since you can communicate well and the other can understand your message , thats ok.Your French accent can not reprove you in the test you ll gonna make , cause this accent is a part of you. Teacher Heather Hensen (its in You Tube) says when you meet a French person speaking to a Chinese , you are establishing a conversation . Suppose you might not catch one or another word he says , you can the meaning get by the context.we are not ruin the English because of our accent , dont worry about that.I f you dont speak like a native , thats ok. Its important you can communicate with others..We should celebrate that we are opened more voices and learning more about the world around. We have to listen to these voices no matter they are correct or not , cause other people have voices as well. The accent is a part of your identity ,right?Keep on studying ,never give up. Cynthia
