I just watch this movie two days ago and i really love this movie , i wasn’t aware this was a remake to the original 2 years ago and hearing that the original is better or someone really love the movie, but personally for me i enjoyed the movie and would watch it again someday. And if there one day to watch the original I would put it on my watchlist for later Also 0:20-0:33 james mcavoy absolutely nailed this roles and having fun with the scenes of the movies, this still stay in my head rent free on how intense and goofy this scene is, he really make my skin goosebumps

Nothing condones what the character Paddy did in this movie but this movie has an ever present reference to abuse that was suffered in childhood. As myself being someone who was severely mentally emotionally physically and sexually abused as a child and as a teenager, this character Paddy is both disgusting to me because he’s a psychopath and I am not but at the same time I can see the pain in his eyes. He’s miserable and depressed and he wants to die. The only thing that makes him feel alive is hunting people that is of course wrong and disgusting and he only does that because he’s a psychopath, but the abuse from childhood you can see it in his eyes and you can hear it in his voice when he sings. Apart from the psychopathy and independently of it he is in very deep pain and he wants to die.

The original takes a shot on this Americanized garbage. All you can say about this film is you get closure. The first was horrific because unlike Hollywood, the hood guys don't always win.
