A watered down American remake of one of the most disturbing horror movies of all time. Getting a wide theatrical release for mainstream audiences. What a great idea Blumhouse.

The whole point of the original was that they did not fight back. The remake seems to abandon that and turn it into a full-on action movie. Don't know how I feel about that.
@user-mq4xp1gq3q5 ай бұрын
Not fighting back is unrelatable and nonsensical to me, which made the plot seem contrived or far-fetched...but maybe those types of people with no survival instinct, spine, or common sense exist.
@seventeenseventythirteen74654 ай бұрын
@@user-mq4xp1gq3q You would be painfully surprised at how far people will go to not break social norms. There've been studies like one where they have participants sit in a room and fill out paperwork, fill it with 10-20 people all but one are actors, and slowly pump smoke into the room from under a door. The actors pretend not to see it but the real person almost always ended up staying when the actors said "Just calm down, we have to finish the paperwork.". Even though in direct danger, the fear of breaking some invisible social boundary is something that people will avoid doing even if it puts them in harms way. This includes rudely saying "Hey, you're a crazy person and I don't want to be in your house anymore.".
