Just a quick note- some viewers have asked about it and I measured it. If you're looking at using this particular unit with a vertical GPU in the NR200, the pump and tubing run can results in potential GPU compatibility issues if your GPU is long. On the inside of the case I measured roughly 310mm between the pump and the rear of the case, which means that if you are planning on a long GPU take note. The 3070 and 3080 Founders edition cards all mount without issue.

Speaking of dimensions: It looks like bottom-mounting the GPU is definitely a no-go with this cooler in its stock form. Would thin fans provide enough clearance for a double-slot GPU; or is vertical GPU orientation the only way to make it work?

So I’m actually using this in my current nr200 build I put the fans on the opposite sides of the pump/lines in the suggested push configuration (pressure optimized fans) and it gave me a little more flexibility to side mount it with the lines/pump testing against the PSU shroud Now I’m not 100% sure everything will fit but will know in a few days

Actually that's not the case at all. This particular design isn't theirs, only difference with original reeven is nickel plated block. Fans also ofc. This wasn't developed from 0, also the pump is located there5because of the shity patent held by greedy asotek. It just happens that its specific points might suit well to some of us. There's also some more aio's which might be used as bottom mounted... alphacool has 2, ekwb old one with leakege issues and pump beside the rad, raijintek has one etc.

Nice review and I'm glad you mentioned the loudness of the pump. I think it is something most of these AIO cooler reviews miss is the level of pump noise. It's an area although I understand isn't common is important to me and I think is the reason many of us just have always gone air cooled. Maybe it's a pipe dream, but some of these AIOs pumps are just too noisy.

I recently bought this and swapped out the stock fans with Noctua 120mm PWMs, and it worked well. I think the anti-vibration silicone padding may have also helped to reduce any vibrations from reverberating from inside my case (I've installed the Pure Loop in a top mounted position in a Fractal Design Define R5).

As soon as I saw the Pure Loop, I ummed and erred about buying it for a bottom mount in my NR200P wondering if it could overcome the issues that Asetek coolers apparently have in that configuration. In the end I went with the U12-A as a reliable air-cooled solution since there are plenty of reviews and real-world examples of it. This video doesn't make me regret my decision, but I'm glad to see a detailed look at it, and that the cooler has been noticed as a potential solution for a bottom-mounted AIO (or some other 'non-optimal' configuration) not only for this case but others as well.

I bought and installed this cooler a few days back, and I must say: the pump is NOT quiet at all. It makes a constant whistling sound which becomes a lot irritating over time. Before this, I used a CoolerMaster Seidon 240V and its pump didn't make any sound, not like this one. Every reviewer says that it makes no sound at all, so I wonder is this a unique problem with mine?

@@demimascot as for your question, how is that possible? I mounted the block on the CPU with the tubes to the back of the case and the pump on the side of the power supply. This resulted in no sharp bends and there was plenty of room between the Radiator and the PSU for the pump. I wish I had taken a picture of it before I removed it all, because of the pump failure . I really don't think the pump failure was due to the way it was mounted.

Hey Jason, you’re very kind and I am glad you enjoy the content. I assume you’re hoping to use the tempered glass panel. In general I’d say yes but two things will help- 1) thinner gpu so it’s not choked off. The closer to 2 slots the better. 2) strong airflow either top down or bottom up, make sure you balance the airflow from the bottom to top. Here is where some quality rad and case fans help, so that you can just lock them to 1200RPM and lock case fans to a little less. What you’re trying to avoid is air going out or in the back panel since if your fan setup is negative pressure, some GPU exhaust could be sucked back in. If it’s positive, then that cool air is bypassing the GPU fans somewhat and just exiting out the back. There will a video coming later in the week with some thermal benchmarks involving a vGPU, that may help your planning.

They're a bit thicker thought and I assume that's the source of their slightly better results. Pure Wings or Silent Wings, they're loud, really loud even at low rpm. If you want some advice, especially seeing that you're interested in what I was interested at the begninning, which is better fans. What I did wrong was try the cheaper options which were very promising and were claimed to perform on par with the best of the best or at least close to that and the experience was quite different. Take the P12 for example. They're good fans but they make a humming noise at ~1000rpm. It's very irritating. If you think you're gonna set the speed to avoid that rpm area, if you have a curve, even for a brief moment, it's still gonna make that noise. I bought 6 of those and gave up on them. The bigger brother, the P14, shares the same doownside because it's using the same motor. Pretty dissapointing to me. I tried some other options too and I came to the conclusion that there's no top performance/silent operation without a price to go with that. So I got x6 A12-25, which cost quite a lot considering it's fans we're talking about here, but doing that, I basically eliminated the only thing that was on my mind, which was 'what fan is it going to get close to Noctua's top performer'. And that turned out to cost me a lot more simply because in the end I still bought the A12-25's, thing I could've done from the beginning but avoided because of the steep price, of course. But from the moment I got them and installed them, set the curve, blah blah blah, they've taken a stone off my heart because they work so well. I've get mounted on 2x Corsair Hydro X Series XR5 360mm and the fan speed is ranging between 22% which is so silent you literally cannot hear a thing with your ear next to them, and 40% when the water temperature get to 37C. So they stay extremely quite and cool my PC giving the best results with the most silent operation. So go ahead and buy these things if you want top performance and dead silent operation (silent at the proper rpm, of course). Even if it means getting them one by one, over a period of time to not feel very hard the hole in the pocket, I still recommend buying them over anything else. Just my 2 cents

@@dragos-lucian So I´ve done some testing. It´s not the fans that are making sound, it´s the pump on this cooler. I have this Pure Loop 280mm and the pump is making this low constans low hum noise. Really anoying. Apparently it´s supposed to run @ full speed according to Be Quiet, but it´s driving med nuts. I´ve seen some people regualting the pump, but I´m uncertain if the pump will fail earlier. Really dissapointed.

Three years already. I'm still skeptical about bottom mounting the radiator. It seems like something to do only if you are desperate.

Wanted to buy this but went for the ID-Cooling se 224 xt instead. If possible could you review the 225 version when it's available. Want to know if it makes a difference in thermals on the 5600x & 5800x. Love your vids!

Hey Gavin, thanks for checking in. I have the 225 on the review desk... hoping to have it wrapped up next week. Honestly for a 5600X even if it is a degree or two better, it wouldn’t be a big deal. We’re talking diminishing returns past the 224XT. For a hotter chip, yes, might make sense.

Would it be possible to fit slim fans and have enough clearance for a 3080 FE in the horizontal position?

Imo, leaving some air in the system for expansion isn't really necessary. I can't see expansion being an issue, these coolers couldn't possibly build up that much pressure. In fact, pressure would make the coolant circulate better with the right pump design. If a guy could set up a liquid cooling design like in vehicles it would be as sufficient as it could get and have zero air in it, they would actually bleed themselves out with the use of a pressure valve and a reservoir.

11:57 - That hum is actually starting to drive me nuts. I have a be quiet case but the sound just leaks through. At least the pitch is constant.

Here for you man! Thanks for this video. I wonder how it would fit in an Ncase M1 side panel?

It won't be easy with the in-line pump block. Not a huge reason to go with this one in the M1 though. An Asetek unit usually works quite well.

I'm about to buy an AIO, but I haven't decide yet which is the better choice between this Be Quiet Pure Loop and the NZXT Kraken x63 (or z63, that would only be an option because its LED). It's kinda weird that Be Quiet just offers 3 years warranty, but in the other hand they say refill possibility ensure your investment for a long time. Meanwhile, Kraken x63 offers a 6 year warranty, no refill option, but it seems they are more confident in their product. Of course, the prices are the core of this confusion. Pure Loop would be the best cost-benefit option? Or Kraken really wotrths its price?

Are you mounting on the bottom? If so the Pure Loop is by far the better choice. You also don’t benefit from the RGB on the NZXT since it’s covered- RGB accounts for a huge cost premium.

You really have some of the best videos. I'm glad I found it while trying to build the most ideal set up for the NR200. Currently trying to get a 3080 of some kind, already have a 5600x. I haven't fully decided on how to cool the CPU or what kind of fan set up. This looked like a good idea, or if I should just go air cooling all around. Any recommendations? how is the mounting when you just use the NR200 and have the GPU horizontal mounted? is there enough space to the front of the case to route the cables to get to the CPU?

Hey there- I think a 5600X is one of those CPUs where it wouldn't benefit much from liquid cooling, other than noise if you are sensitive. If you're trying to overclock it for more single core performance then a big maybe, but otherwise, I just think an air cooler like a Big Shuriken 3 or SE-224-XT will suffice for clocks that PBO will give you. For multi-core stuff I'd say it makes a lot more sense to go up to the next level of CPU rather than try to overclock it (but you don't have that problem since you already have the 5600X). Case-wise- there is one more thing- if you're set on vertical mounting your GPU then you almost have to go with an AIO since a flat air cooler will get choked off.

@@MachinesMore Thank you so much for the recommendations. I'm sorry if I have so many questions, I actually managed to snag an EVGA FTW3 ultra. I'm trying to find the most ideal cooling set up. There is not enough space below the GPU for even slim fans correct? (dimensions of the card and case below). I assume that top two fans are always going to be exhaust and the two side (if they can fit) are going to be intake. I was also looking at both of those coolers you recommended! For the SE-224-XT 1) is there enough space to put two fans on the side panel? 2) is it worth it to put it on the side panel? 3) would you have one or two fans on the cooler itself? For Big Shuriken 3 1) orientation of the fan, it is suppose to go toward the board or away from the board for correct cooling? gfx size L: 330mm (incl. power connector), H: 156mm (incl. power connector), W: 60mm (triple slot) 3080 FTW Length: 11.81 in - 300mm Height: 5.38 in - 136.75mm Width: 2.75 Slots
