Episode 16 from the series Always Only Jesus with Skip Heitzig. Watch the complete series:
• Always Only Jesus
Communication is a basic human trait, and one of the most obvious differences between people and animals is our ability to form articulate speech. We can inform, persuade, instruct, motivate, and encourage. The Christian, in particular, is called upon to speak to God about people and speak to people about God. The “new man” (Colossians 3:10) has a new mouth and a new message. Let’s consider four ways that we as believers can communicate to God and others.
This teaching is from the series Always Only Jesus with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

Learning so much from the Word through Pastor Skip (and then I reread every chapter he teaches!🙏🏼) God bless you, Pastor as well your congregation always! Wondering if one day Pastor Skip will offer any teaching sermons on Mary Magdalene and Martha? As a single Christian woman who was raised in the church but sadly left the body at the age of 20(during college years), but Praise God I have reconcile my life with Christ since 2019, so I can to relate to Mary Magdalene' and how she met, then repented, willing followed and actually was the first one see our Lord and Savior's Resurrection. ✝️🙏🏼 PS watching from New York City

Thought I'd speak up. This was creepy. The last time I was in a church was Calvary Abq back in 2000. About halfway through ol Skip encouraged everyone to vote for Bush (we all know how that turned out) I walked out, voted for Gore and never looked back. I am now a happy, productive Humanist. Thank you Skippy (and Hitchens) for helping me see the light.

Don't blame skip on your drudgery of life you're the one that chose to turn away from God. I'm not a bush fan but I voted for the piece of crap but Gore would have been much worse or haven't you noticed that Gore started all this BS about global warming? You lived or sick to the core your soul is junked up come out why you still can

I appreciate your opinion. I almost quit watching Pastor Skip because he sort of started suggesting that to get to Heaven you would need to get baptized 😭 but I realized that he doesn't hold the keys to Heaven nor does AMY "religion" , & if I were to "quit" listening in to Pastor Skip I would be NO better than those self proclaimed"Christians" who TELL you what to do to get to Heaven & not do what Christ ASKED us to do by saying "come follow me." We all have the opportunity (in the U.S. anyway) to worship in our own way & to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I pray you & anyone who may read this understands that we all are different lives & grow up in different cercumstances, so we have our own battles. 🤗🙏

You did more to project a prior petty grievance than you did to explain what was creepy. Skip is far from being without his fault and error, as we all are. While I am in agreement with that a pastor should probably keep his political endorsement out of a position dedicated to Spiritual/God focused, you are showing equal fault by giving priority to petty grievance than you are to reconciliation and redemption. My prayer for you is that God will give the grace needed to forgive and be forgiven, that your heart will be put away with the old man and you will adorn yourself anew.

@@taylordunham8608 Hi Tay tay. You said "petty grievance" twice twice which in and of itself negates pettiness. Deep down, though you wont yet admit it, I think you know there is no god, thus prayer is futile. Otherwise you would spend all your time and focus praying for children with cancer, not for some bloke like me. Adorn myself anew?? That just sounds weird and violating. I like you Tay tay and I hope someday you will quit the wish thinking and use logic and reason and evidence. Then you can call yourself adorned anew. Have a very Merry Christmas.

I see you have a rock band on the stage. If you need that for Jesus' message, then you are practicing "of the world". I'm disappointed that you DID NOT read verse 1 of Colossians 4. Verse 1 sets up about we're about to read. Is the church so afraid that y'all can't mention slavery in those days? Sounds like to me you are afraid of alienating people. Someone who regularly reads & understands the Bible knows about those subjects. I found it cowardly not to mention it, (PC). And you haven't even started to read Colossians 4:2 yet. So far you're talking about how to tell different diseases on the tongue by looking at the tongue & STILL HAVE SAID NOTHING, EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO WHAT 2 - 6 VERSES ARE ABOUT!!!! You preachers think that if you fill up space with talking nonsense as a filling in a talk that people will understand. The only thing you are doing is confusing them. Some of it made sense, but not much. You should've led with scripture 1st. You are so confusing with explaining the Word. What you are saying & explaining HAS NOTHING to do with Colossians 4: 2 - 6. NOTHING!!!

George, Not sure it makes a difference you seem to clearly be bitter hearted but his last series addressed Colossians 4:1. Skip does go line by line through Scripture so anything left out in this video was either covered before in the previous one or will be spoken on in the next one. I understand your issue with the scale of the music, it’s a bit over done for my taste as well but what is over done with music is made up for with some great exposition by a knowledgeable teacher. I personally prefer intimate fellowship were there are no speakers or expensive sound stages, just the meek voices of the congregation and maybe an acoustic guitar or piano for rhythm. I enjoy singing old hymns written by people who faced much worse conditions. They seemed to understand humility a bit more than we do today. There are times when I find some error in Skip, but it serves as a humbling reminder to me that we all have error. Time spent defrauding the brethren rather than uplifting isn’t what I was taught by the Word.

@@taylordunham8608 Not bitter at all. I love Jesus the Christ & the assembly. I read the Lord's Word. I'm seeing too man churches & men leading Christians to Hell. There are men I have listened to that I haven't seen any error. They just tell the truth.

1. You're upset about the worship, which is fine, but just remember, worship IS NOT FOR YOU, IT'S FOR GOD. If he created the stringed instruments and the percussion, and gave our singers voices & rhythm and cadence, I don't think he's got a problem with us using those gifts to praise him. 2. Colossians 4:1 is a different topic than 2-6. It's even separated with a different heading in the NKJV & KJV. It was more than likely addressed in the last sermon he preached. 3. We clearly ain't listening to the same sermon or reading the same text, because Colossians 4:2-6 is all about our speech. Paul tells us to pray, he tells us WHAT to pray for specifically, and finishes with how we ought to speak to one another. All points Skip touches on.
