the msq mentioned everyone on the 9th fought viciously for what scarce electrope they had. now considering everkeep is made basically completely out of this rare resource, and the fact the alexandrians’ aetherial sea at home requires soul fuel to run, seems to heavily suggest pretty much everyone else on the 9th are memory fodder

52:35 - Oh god I FORGOT about the cutscene with Cid's goggles... wasn't that back in ARR? TBH there's a bunch of ideas in ARR that seem like they were altered or abandoned outright (I mean the Ascians themselves and their plans aren't even the same compared to what they retconned later), perhaps that's one of those. Maybe let's just pretend Cid had inhaled too much of the airship's exhaust fumes and had a trippy vision or something, lol.

51:50 - While I do like the theory that our WoL is like THE most influential/important version of Azem, I really wouldn't want them literally having us go through everything Azem did. I think the writers got it right having Azem and WoL fundamentally being two separate entities/personalities... I think enforcing a time loop where we essentially have to do all of Azem's fated tasks starts to remove any influence the player themselves has put on their WoL. Like, yeah there are canon feelings/reactions in the narrative that the WoL has regardless of how the player feels, but there still remains some leeway where the player can feel like WoL is a reflection of THEIR thoughts/actions. When you start forcing the WoL on a more hardcore path that cements what they are regardless of the player, I think it's going to turn a lot of players off and break their connection to their character.

54:40 the problem is that Azem was a person of their own, has been friends with Hades and Hythlo for probably thousands of years, and more importantly it would only work for hyurs, roes and elezen, on top of that the Argos bootstrap paradox kinda implies we are distinct from Azem since we do need to prove ourselves to ride him

31:15 i think either Krile's parents in LM or Sphene after ZJ fight say that the key has been useless until Preservation augmented it with electrope and only then did it allow dimensional fusion/opening the gate in Skydeep Cenote

not in favor of azem shenanigans really, but that time loop mail got me thinking how much i would love for wol to get yeeted elsewhere and faint on the scions like it's uno reverse 4.4. that'd be how i'd prefer another time travel scenario and i think any future hops would have to be into the far, far future several centuries later. Unless they wanna branch timelines again in the future, in which case who gives a fuck lmao i just think it'd be fun to have wol go off somewhere alone again in msq.
