The thing I admire most about this show is that it’s able to tell a great story without a single word of dialogue. Not one. No origin story. No opening narration. You’d think that would turn people away from it but really no words need to be said. The messages are conveyed just fine. From a marketing standpoint, it’s absolutely genius. People all over the world can watch this show and still know what’s going on without having to rely on whether or not the translation is good. Well done!

This is the greatest genius of Tartakovsky. His ability to tell a story without a single goddamn word being spoken. He's done it before with PPG, Dexter, and Samurai Jack. But this series is clearly a shot at his magnum opus of that style of story telling.

He said that there called Horned Tyrannosaurs Which I woul assume since prehistory took a different turn I would assume two types a of TRex split up One being Fang which is a normal T-Rex and maybe cause of it TRex adapted to being smaller which would explain why she's so tiny in Shots And the other kind of specie's is these Horned Tyrannosaurs which is probably why that mother was so big, the ones that killed Spears Family must have been juveniles and the big one is the mother So not beefed up Ceratosaurs just a subspecies But Don't worry I thought the same thing at first too 😉

I love how this show doesn’t give you a single dialogue but still you can understand the whole story by using your primal instinct or your own instinct of understanding actions and reactions. The story and the characters made us stop thinking during the whole episode and just enjoy it, leaving us speechless after the episode end for a moment then the only thing that lingering us is our feelings about that episode.

I’ve done some research, and I believe the Horned Tyrannosaurs from Primal may actually be Gennedy’s own depiction of Pycnonemosaurus. Just like one of the smaller Horned Tyrannosaurs, the Pycnonemosaurus has a bumpy and spiny horn-like structure on its snout.

Fun fact Spear and Fang are named after Robert E Howard's First Published pulp story. Which is fitting because the series is a love letter to classic pulps such as Howard's Kull, Solomon Kane, and Conan the barbarian.

look at it this way, the modern day descendants of the tyrannosaurus are chickens which your descendants eat on a nearly daily basis, so in the long run you won by default, though I admit we don't look nearly as awesome when slaughtering them. Not that this interaction ever occurred considering that homo habilis (earliest known human species) died off 1.6 million years ago and the tyrannosaurus died off 66 million years ago. So this is a fun animation by highly inaccurate humans probably wouldn't be as successful as they are today if they did have to fight large dinosaurs, which they totally would if they could.

@@peralesdavid They don't and that's the point, but this a situation in which someone may question the historical authenticity of the events happening in the series. There are children and ignorant adults who might watch this and believe that people actually fought dinosaurs and I merely wish to stere people in the right direction. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story, but never let a good story get in the way of the truth.

Fun fact: Contrary to popular belief, chickens and tyrannosaurs aren't even closely related. Birds branched off from the Maniraptoran group (raptors and the last) during the Jurassic.
