Spear of Destiny Floor 10: Barnacle Wil the Jailer
The second boss fight and and the first half of the game done! There is more to this level than just the boss fight with Barnacle Wilhelm, but it's still a very short one.
The layout of the room with the boss fight is similar to the boss fight in Wolfenstein 3D's episode 6 where the boss is in the middle and there are guards in alcoves around him. On this floor, you can easily clear the guards and get to the secrets with health and ammo without Wilhelm spotting you, which makes this an easy fight.

The end of the Dungeons. Now to my favorite levels: The Castle levels (except Map20)

This boss level was actually quite fun. I was surprised though, how long the first castle level is compared to these earlier ones. And there are so many secrets!

​@@explodingfishplays The first Castle floor is gonna take you well over 20 minutes if you're doing it slow paced and it will take around 15 minutes if you do it fast paced

It was long for sure. The first time I got to the end, it took me at least 20 minutes. I haven't recorded it yet, but it's good to know I can shave off at least 5 minutes.

It's weird to see this game in 60fps. Are you planning Ultimate Challenge and Return to Danger?

It's a different experience in 60fps for sure. I tried playing the original version first, but I guess I've been spoiled by modern games and it felt too clunky, so I switched to EcWolf. I was planning on playing Ultimate Challenge and Return to Danger after finishing Spear of Destiny since I've never played those before. But I think I've overdosed on Wolfenstein and need to play something else next. 😅 But I'll do those two a bit later.

What kind of computer accessories allow people to move through these levels so fast? Are they using a joystick or something?

I play with keyboard and mouse, but I've seen many play with keyboard only. I think the answer to speed is that most people play with the ECWolf source port that allows better controls and turning on running as default instead of walking.

Yes, I have quite a few that I want to play (Doom, Hexen, Heretic, and a bunch of other old and newer ones). I haven't decided on what I'll play after I finish Spear of Destiny, but I kind of feel like playing a third person shooter for a change. Maybe even something with an actual story. After that, perhaps the first Doom? I'm open to suggestions, though.

Ok, I see. I actually started playing episode 1 with keyboard, but I didn't like it. I also played with a controller for a while, but found mouse + keyboard the best for me. I don't think I'll bother to change it back at this point.
