It occurs to me that the secret at 1:46 is basically a showcase of how the Doom engine could do a lot of things that Wolfenstein's engine couldn't. Stairs, varying elevation, curved walls, more elaborate lighting effects and textures... Not to mention, you find a bunch of crates of differing varieties of ammo, when Wolfenstein had only one kind of ammo (all the weapons in it are identical except for firing rate).

It only occurred to me just now, reading the preamble at the beginning, that this level is actually a prison for all those guards that BJ killed in Wolfenstein 3D. Their eternal punishment is to relive their deaths at the end of some FPS player's gun over and over again.

Afaik, Doomguy would never kill humans even if they were affiliated with demons. He would give them a chance to improve and submit themselves. Like he was supposedly virtuous and valued human life. So this play through was quite contradictory
