Out of all the spearfishing channels I've gone through, yours has to be the best. You explain everything clearly and awesome video quality.

So far out of everything I've seen you have the best spearfishing channel, the commentary & variation of locations is just right. Just wish there was more content !

Hey mate! What type of set up do you recommend for this? I’ve tried creeping up headland gutters but so hard with the float line. Cheers!
@DanielMann3 жыл бұрын
I would use a short powerful gun with a reel and anchor my float outside of the gutter with a drop weight. Or use a short floatline about 8m long with a little pull under float.

what settings are you using on your gopro in the first seen of the school of jew in the clean water ?? Love the vid by the way
@DanielMann7 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, I think that was filmed at 50fps on 1080 with protune off and gopro colour space. I tend to film in 2.7K @ 50fps with protune to get a higher bitrate and I find downsampled 2.7K to 1080 looks a lot better. Also gives you options for digital zooms or reframing without loss of quality.

Question for ya with the size it would be heaps hard knowing wat is legal and wat ain’t , so if you shot a not legal fish obviously you thru it back always wondered on this I’m from Nsw and gunna start spearing
@DanielMann5 жыл бұрын
If in doubt don’t pull the trigger. When this was filmed the minimum size in NSW was 45cm which is a very small fish and very easy to tell underwater especially when a 10kg fish swims by.

Good to know Jewie's habits from under water footage, we caught 3 big ones, then lost a big one, and never hooked up again, captain said the lost fish may have spooked the school, that's the theory anyway...

@DanielMann7 жыл бұрын
All of the fish shot are well above legal length for the states they were speared in. Most of the free swimming footage of the mulloway are small fish, hence them being left alone. Thanks for watching!
@comeatmebro32297 жыл бұрын
i know there legal size for your state i was just saying if i was to do this i wouldn't be game enough to spear any on those fish because of our larger size limits :/
@DanielMann7 жыл бұрын
82cm is still a pretty small mulloway, probably only 6 or 7kg. Good luck!

Zac Allen Nothing in this video was shot at cabba. I have shot a few small fish there a long time ago but it's generally not a place big fish will frequent.

used to be fish there but once the divers have been, there all gone just like the places in this video will be..... Its inevitable.....

Now that I am becoming more familiar with your video catalog, the more I want to sell of all I own and relocate. Too much chaos here in the United States. Been checking into the oil rigs off Norway....but I don't speak Norwegian..... soooooo... Would I be correct in assuming that most of you are from the U.K. ? Great videos.....not flashing T & A......just the real deal . Not that there is anything wrong with T & A........its just that there is plenty of that elsewhere . Keep up the good work . Safety First (though I should listen to my own advice as I prefer to dive and spearfish solo......enjoy the peace and tranquility......becoming one with nature . Perhaps we meet up in a hot spot some day......please don't spear me...... I'm not a fish.....just live like one ! ! ! HAPPY HUNTING MATES
@DanielMann6 жыл бұрын
Most of the people on my channel are from Australia, I’ve been living in the U.K. for the past few years though. T & A isn’t my style, I don’t like the culture that it breeds. Every Norwegian I’ve met speaks very good English so unless it’s a job requirement to speak Norske you’d be fine.
@robertmanley34726 жыл бұрын
Daniel Mann wise young man. That's called using your head.....the one connected to your shoulders. Of all the channels I prefer yours......simply because it's not over the top promoting stupid dangerous spearfishing techniques . It's realistic. That you take the time to reply says a lot about what you're made of........and is a welcome bonus . When I wasn't in the water growing up......i was on a surfboard....something I truly miss and hope to get back into soon (no waves where I'm presently living). 2 of my favorite quotes : The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but reveal to their own. - Benjamin Disraeli Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path, and leave a trail . - Ralph Waldo Emerson HAPPY HUNTING Robert Scott Manley Florida USA

They are the ear bones from the fish and can be cut in half, dyed and growth rings counted (like a tree) to determine the age but mostly just as a memento for capturing one.
