Surviving Solo on Remote Islands: Spearfishing Giant Fish in Pristine Waters

Note: Marine Mammal Protection Act and Marine Mammal Protection Regulations In New Zealand: The flying of drones in less that 150m close to whales among other things is prohibited. I was unaware of this at the time, only aware that I should not be swimming with them. While a lot of the footage is shot high out of these parameters, there is some footage that is well under that so is Illegal. I have spoken with DOC (Department of Conservation) and now am aware of these rules. This is a good chance to make others aware of these regulations. I am writing this to inform others of this rule so hopefully you can be more aware and not do the same as I did! Cheers, Ollie

Beautiful footage Ollie! My dive buddy and I had an orca pod of 4 approach us hunting for stingrays in the shallows The size and agility of the animals is incredible we were both in shock and awe of what just happened, truly a moment i will never forget. Still haven't seen a kingfish yet haha

Absolutely epic footage Ollie! You've got some unreal footage of those whales and bait fish. So rad, that you can bring these moments to people who have no idea this type of action/behavior goes on in the ocean! Enjoyed every minute of the video. BTW The sinus squeeze is pretty painful when you dive with any type of head cold or congestion. Tried it a few times and swore I'll never do it again😂. The chances of forced equalization causing more damage is pretty high. Stay safe out there, and happy diving. Can't wait to see what's next! Cheers mate!
