Glad you liked it, feel free to share it around. Spots as in specific locations? I've shot mackerel at every chart reef off Moreton Island and Tweed Heads. They are everywhere really. Just need to find the bait and the fish will be there somewhere.

Daniel Mann yeah mate less about exact spots and more about the style of structure that you find them in. Like where the structure comes up from depth and the bait sit, e.g. Where the reef breaks into sand and vice versa. Where current runs, is disturbed by structure and pushes the bait up. Perhaps a diagram or showing an example. I know a bit about where they run on the west coast but I've not dived for them on the east coast much. I'm sure it's probably similar. Really loving these species specific videos though. Thank you for making them and talking about it. Legends.

Hey Piers I bought it off Tony Heugh circa 2009. It had an old 40hp mercury on it that died which I replaced with the 50hp Tohatsu and converted it to a centre console from a tiller steer. It’s built by Fibre-tek, C-Ski 440. The newer 444 versions are even better.

You seem to stone the fish quite regularly even in unclear water, would you say you're a particularly good shot?

I wouldn't say I'm anything special but I think it helps I tend to use the same gun all the time and have the same trigger mechanisms on all my guns.

actually haven't use it yet but planning too stuck in town due to the thingy..... the first things come to mind is old DVD's/CD's dirt cheap even if you buy them new. may not be proper fish shape but to get the fish curiouse about how it sparks should work just fine. as for floats.. take a waterbottle and make a hole in the cap and push the rope throught and make a knot the fill the cap with hotglue and screw it back on. not as pretty but you cant get much cheaper especially in a place like mine where materials is hard to get.

Definitely, but you risk losing the gun. I use 50m on all my reels.
