Really impressed with your depth and length of breath hold. Cudos for being selective in your take. Been years since I've gone shooting. Life got in the way. Hopefully I will be inspired and get wet and shoot something sooner than later. Here in Southern California the fishing should heat up in a month or so. For all the diving I did in my youth I still believe I did not do enough. Stay wet.

I'm nowhere near your capabilities, but it's nice to see that at least we have some common grounds with landing Pualus. Literally landed two today. I just mastered a great simple recipe for them, Filleted, soaked in milk, tempura'd, then dipped in spicy mayo, and rolled onto a seaweed roll with white rice, furikake, and unagi sauce. Spicy Pualu Tempura Musubi.

It took me some time to get where I’m at, I’m sure if I took a class I could have gotten here much quicker though 😅 still really thinking about taking one 👌🏼 but it just takes pushing breath holds and depths, and consistency is very important. That sounds delicious, gona have to start doing more musubi/sushi dishes 👍🏼

Solid Video. Yeah ukus can be tricky to size because they stay off the bottom so there is not much to reference them to. I like to look at the dorsal fin, I find the small ones have a more exaggerated dorsal fin compared to body size. But I normally only look for ukus at least 5 pounds. Nice to see you pushing some depths brah, it gets hard to land where you want the deeper you go but normally the fish are a little more curious so its less consequential if you don't have a great hiding spot. Cant wait for the next one!
@wakeupandlive33863 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip brah 👍🏼 definitely try to pay attention to that now. And yeah, definitely harder to land where you want in deeper water and actually thinking about it now, I was landing more like 150 ft away from where I wanted to. Current was kinda bad that day. And yeah, a lot of the times fish definitely seem more curious in deeper water, makes for easier hunting but definitely can push your limits easier. Mahalo’s braddah 🤙🏼

Brah! Bad Ass bottom time. Did you take that breath hold class? Teach yourself? I would have blacked out 2 times if I held that long. Impressive to say the least.
@wakeupandlive33863 жыл бұрын
Haha! I’ve been self taught all my life, having trusted partners makes the difference. Been diving solo most of my life but once I got a partner I started pushing deeper and longer and that’s when I really started improving. 👌🏼 Consistency is definitely key 🤙🏼
@martin_millz3 жыл бұрын
that drop for that mu was textbook. way to be selective, I'm nowhere near as good so I cant say i wouldnt have pulled the trigger on those fish you passed up lol. Whats the difference between a palani and a pualu?
@wakeupandlive33863 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, although I think textbook would’ve hiding a bit better and having a smoother lunge out. You can be a little more sloppy in the deep 😅 and slight color differences in the fish, I can’t describe it right now but I just know when I see both 👌🏼
