Beginner here, how in da hell you stay down that long ?
@wakeupandlive33864 ай бұрын
Well I had years of experience, that slowly helped increase my breath hold. I’ve also done co2 and o2 tables before, helped train the mind and body to increase tolerances. I’ve done underwater training, which was doing a few max breathhold swims. I made it a point, that every dive trip no matter what, I’d either do 3 deep dives 80-100 ft or 3 max breath hold dives at 40-50 ft. Eventual you learn how to truly relax every part of your body and become more oxygen efficient. Pushing deeper seems to have had the quickest effect in my improvement though. Hope this helps

how did you learn to stay down so long. Im trying to dive deeper but cant seen to hold my breath long enough
@wakeupandlive33869 ай бұрын
Actually my dive times are about a minute shorter compared to 2 years ago. But for me it’s just consistency, constantly pushing breath holds, slowly adapting to deeper water, getting more proficient with relaxation, kicking, having a good free fall, equalizing properly. Look up O2 and CO2 tables, you could give those a try. I’ve done them before and increased my dry static breath hold in a couple weeks.

I’m a new diver and I can never hold my breath long. Can you make a video about that? Is it true when you’re thinking about sharks you can’t hold your breath? That just seems crazy.
@wakeupandlive338610 ай бұрын
Well I honestly don’t know any secret techniques or anything like that. It seems like some freediving classes can instantly teach people how to have a longer breath hold just from 1-2 classes. So maybe that might be an option. I have never taken a class and have just slowly increased my breath hold over time. The only advice I can give is to be consistent, learn to fully relax, use the bare minimum effort when kicking and moving around. Eventually you learn how to relax your entire body. Another method to increase your breath hold and CO2 tolerance is to do tables. Look up O2 and co2 tables. I’ve used that before and increased my breath hold in a couple weeks.
@skinz123410 ай бұрын
@@wakeupandlive3386 Mahalo for the quick reply. I took two classes and when I couldn't do it, like you said in such a short period, the instructors told me come back when you know what your problem is. Been to the doctor and they said everything is anatomically OK. I don't know who can help me anymore. But your breathold is amazing and so awesome!!! And it's not torture holding your breath so long? Because for me it is! I feel like after 10 feet its just hard to get down, does it get easier at a certain depth if you keep kicking a little bit?
@wakeupandlive338610 ай бұрын
@@skinz1234 You’re welcome. Oh wow! Well are you physically fit? Do you have a decent static apnea? Dry or wet, just no movement. Or is your urge to breath only from water pressure? The kicking? Trying to equalize (not properly) and using to much oxygen, or just completely throwing your mental state off. And it only gets harder the deeper you go, (using more oxygen from kicking and equalizing) but the first 30 ft I’m still buoyant, so it’s harder for me to stay down with anything shallower then that.
