Just came across you guys and I’ve got to say you are the real deal. What an amazing couple. Unlike many of the other sailing channels I’ve watched in recent times you are low key, hugely knowledgeable, unflappable, funny and great to watch. These are rare attributes, especially among the new youtube generation of dilettante sailors. No hysterics because you’ve broken a fingernail or banged your head. Actually nothing seems a drama to you guys - I love your positiveness, dignity, normality and love of life. And even though I’ve been sailing now for nearly 60 years, I learn heaps from each new instalment. Who would have thought to smoke fish downwind to keep the bugs off. Tremendous stuff. Pascal your lovely smile makes my day and Troy you are truly in command of your environment, a proper old school skipper. You may disagree but I think you are absolute naturals at this video game. I see great things for you in the future, just promise you won’t change who you are, our your style.
@FreeRangeLiving6 жыл бұрын
Dennis, thank you very much for that very sincere compliment. We won't be changing a thing, don't worry. We are very grateful that this project has brought people of your long experience to our audience and we are sure we can learn just as much from you and others like you. Please, keep joining us on the voyage and don't hesitate to contribute any feedback you see fit. Thanks again T&P

Congratulations on having just about the most "authentic" channel, which carves it own mix of fishing, rock art, free climbing, bush tucker, gourmet galley skills (honest!) and remote survival techniques, into a seemingly effortless vlog. I KNOW the work required is not insignificant (think swan gliding across the water while invisible underwater leg action is pushing it's cardiac capability!), but I notice others spreading the word to overseas vlogger yachties. Entirely merited too Please don't stop! Tony
@FreeRangeLiving6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tony. We are getting some messages that people are finding us when their friends share our videos on Facebook or other social media so the word is spreading happily. It is a lot of work to produce this channel but our interactions with our growing audience really does make it worth it for us.

I really like how low maintenance she is. Not afraid to get he hands dirty; knows how to fish, cook, sail, etc. You would be hard pressed to find such a self sufficient woman in America. Most couldn't catch fish from a barrel, cook instant grits, or put gas in their cars, let alone go out sailing like this and living minimalistic.
@bizim_eller4 жыл бұрын
@@charlieodom9107 but they all act like they are entitled to everything! Also same thing could be said for most of the guys in america, they would just like to use and throw away girls like pascale if they had the chance! (Drugs and not having good parents and sucky laws to blame)

Best spearie video i have seen in a long time and i loved the respect you give your food with a clean stab to the brain so the fish does not suffer. I wish more people would do that. Sounds cruel but then the fish does not suffer and release stress hormones into the meat is very important to the taste of the fish

We think it is important to maintain our empathy with the animals that feed us. Quite a lot of hunting cultures have the same practice and I think it's admirable.
@leonidastsouris25576 жыл бұрын
Well done Troy love your videos , probably more realistic than some of the other Aussie ones , but also first person IV seen fillet properly , yeah it's an old pro fillet tip to leave the first fillet in place after started to keep the backbone straight for the second fillet around the shoulder ,then finish it after the second , makes perfect sense if you think about it. Keep up the good work you guys are great.

I subscribe to some Sailing Vessels that are intertaining and sometimes instructional but your channel envolves more diving and underwater photography. Most channels focus on social situations and more drinking than I know is healthy. Booze has its place but it means nothing to me to watch it with its usual results on the channels program. Your channel has all the right elements for viewers. I like the relationship you project in your videos. I think you will continue to grow your patrons steadily. I am still binging on all the videos before I logged on. You will have a windfall until I catch up, but, I will probably revisit the old ones. None are OLD just previously viewed! Please keep it up and keep me informed about your channel. Rhett

3400 Subscribers in your New Year's video and a month later over 5100. It's starting to grow exponentially and gaining momentum - which really isn't surprising. Another great effort. I see you've got a bit of baby weather up there at the moment - wet and windy. Had a flight stopover at Groote. From the air, it looked like the perfect fishing spot. So many little rocky bays, sandy beaches, coral fringed islands surrounded by crystal clear water (when I flew over). Looked perfect except for the manganese mine scar.
@FreeRangeLiving6 жыл бұрын
Yes, we are pretty happy with the rate we are getting new subscribers. We're also happy with the reports of couples and families watching so the numbers enjoying our work are even a little higher. Groote Eylandt was unexpectedly wonderful, though we didn't get to meet up with any traditional owners till we had left unfortunately.

One other thing - I used to use (when I had hair) the tried and trusted Johnson's Baby Shampoo to wash and rinse my hair in salt water. Don't know if you've tried that but worked a treat. Just check there are no sea mites ijn the bucket of water when you dump it on your head - DAMHIK.

As I found with my Olympus water proof camera there are a couple of "O" rings under hinged doors that access the outlets, inlets for cables etc, these should be removed and washed with precious fresh water,a smear of Vaseline is good or something similar before re seating them in place, I might also add that in the fine, fine print of the warranty is a clause that states the camera must be returned to Olympus yearly to be serviced by them if not then warranty is voided. Unfortunately my camera did not survive its first encounter with a leak through one of those seals,great series guys keep it up. :)
@FreeRangeLiving6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Steven. We managed to send the camera back for a full replacement by Olympus as we had several problems with it. I can't criticize that sort of service but yes, I think the camera doesn't quite live up to it's 'tough' nomination. We are hard on gear though...
