Great stuff, the visibility looks incredible on the day. I'm from just south of the border on the Olympic Peninsula and I love diving with rockfish. Been living overseas for a few years and miss the PNW every day. Thanks!

Great video man! It's so cool to swim around schools of fish like that. I just subbed, I enjoy watching other underwater creators from the Island.

Thanks so much! I'll definitely check out your channel! We're pretty lucky to live where we do.

Black/Dusky rockfish are quite abundant, so I wouldn't worry about harvesting a few (they are not typically sought as a food fish due to excessive worms). Quillback, China, Copper, Yelloweye, etc... are the ones you need to be protective of as they've been over-harvested and are very slow growing. A lot of places now you can't harvest them at all, unlike my days growing up in Alaska where you could keep quite a few. Nothing beats fish and chips with Yelloweye IMO.

Yeah, the decline in numbers I've seen over the past 20ish years ( where I usually go) is pretty crazy! I haven't noticed much for worms though in the black rockfish. Probably because I don't keep many of them 😄 mm that fish n chips sounds great!
