I was telling somone today who was nervous they may not get this box due to the others selling fast, you could buy the 3 units of marines and captain with your LGS discounts and itll be cheaper, assuming no one needs the atv/bikes. Like you mentioned, I think this box will be around for quite a while well into the new year. If the new single release jump marines sellout when they release people might resort to getting this box instead haha. I still see several of the last years boxes on shelves, mainly the space marine ones. Releasing chapter themed boxes was cool but they werent the best offerings and there was no special model to incentivize getting those. I really think GW needs to cool it down on SM releases during the holidays

As someone who is building his Primaris Space Marines (Dusk Raiders chapter) via Battle Forces only, I'm picking this up for the models. So far it's a very infantry heavy force so the speed will help get down the field. On a side note I'm really salty about the SM Combat Patrol. Like you said it doesn't synergize with this Spearhead, and to be honest it doesn't even synergize with itself. Great vid and breakdown! Greetings from MD!

Yeah the SM CP is a hot mess! Luckily the chapter specific ones are decent, but not as good of a value. I'm building my all Primaris force the same way, big discount boxes only. So far I have Dark Imperium, Shadowspear, Wake the Dead, Leviathan, and Indomitus. I'd love to split this battleforce between my regular SM and Black Templars!

This was one of the two battle forces I managed to get (I also got the ork one!). It's great for me because I was thinking about turning the Primaris I've ended up with into a Raven Guard successor chapter, so I wanted jump pack guys and the bikes and ATV are destined to be looted for my orks. I might have jumped the gun though as while I got it at a discount I still paid $195.

if you had waited for the single release of the jump marines and captain you would have paid around the same price really, maybe slightly cheaper. Luckily this is one of the less sought after boxes so it wasnt like you would have missed out if you had waited anyways

I came back to playing 40k in 2023 and I started playing way back in the 1990s. I created my own army base on the Dark Angels. Question: Should I change this army to being a sucessor to another Chapter?

Welcome back! That's a great question. In the past editions, units were pretty locked to their specific subfaction. In 10th Edition, 40K got away from that and now there's Detachments that allow you to bring just about anything. So really it's going to come gown to whether or not your chapter will have Dark Angels specific units not available to regular Space Marines, and even then you're not necessarily "locked in" to just using DA rules. Rule of Cool, I'd keep them as DA successors, and then just run whatever Detachment you like in your games, which is totally allowed by GW!

I had to look hard, but I got my 3 armies boxes, depending on when they start getting desperate to get rid of these I might eventually pick it up too, but I sure as hell won't be paying $230 for it lol, I bet we eventually clear this one for $175 or less, and at that price I'm far more interested

Great video! Just getting into 40k with 10th edition and absolutely obsessed. Building, painting and playing my friends as often as I can. Playing Ultramarines, so I don't think I will be getting this box. Bikes generally seem to be underwhelming for UMs. One thing I'm struggling with in my games (maybe you have advice on) is opponents having a Big Bad unit that seems un-killable (IG Baneblade, Necron Silent King, Aeldari Yncarne Ynnead) and I've tried both focusing it (wasting all firepower and doing little/no damage) and not focusing it (using firepower on softer targets while their gods wipe out entire units) with ultimately no success. I don't feel like I have anything comparably unkillable (yet) or the tools/knowledge to take theirs down. Any tips on what units to buy or what might work against such matchups?

Welcome! I hope you stock around, my grot has a sizeable Ultramarines army and I have a large unpainted Primaris force, so we do cover quite a bit of Space Marines. I agree that this box is not ideal for UMs. The UM army box that came out last year can still be found, and less than retail. For games you want to focus on the missions. Score points and capture objectives and prevent your opponent from doing the same. You want to shoot at the stabby things and stab the shooty things. A Baneblade can't shoot as well (or move) if it's locked in combat with a bunch of power fists. Conversely, Angron isn't going to make it far if he's rolling 30 armor saves a round to a Desolation squad. It also helps to mass your force on one flank and over power your opponents units there and continue striking at a smaller portion of the enemy with your whole force. Asymmetrical warfare.

So far ive only been into warhammer lore wise, but i'm getting into playing the game. I only have the leviathan box, vulkan hestan and a dreadnought. Ik it depends on how you want to play your army but would you say it makes sense for me to get this box for 144 bucks? Great channel! Just subbed

At that price, it's a good deal! It's not going to play perfectly with Vulkan and Salamanders, but it's all 100% usable in that army. Welcome to the hobby and the channel!
