Spec E46 Portland International Raceways 36th Annual Dash for Kids Race

Conditions were pretty tough with 100F air temps and 140F+ track temps. With 2020 being a weird year and no championships, we were using decent tires but they had 9 heat cycles coming into the weekend and would be on their 11th for the race. Brakes were also hovering around 30-40% pad life left on the fronts.
Normally that wouldn't be much of a concern but with how hot it was, we were worried about how well the tires and brakes could deal with the heat.
Chris Hart qualified P1 and was in a similar tire situation, so we were on even ground. Chris is an incredibly fast driver and with both having quality SE46 builds, the opportunities to pass would be sparse.
As the race started, was glad to be keeping up and around lap 4 started seeing an opportunity to make a move and when the window presented itself, the stamp was licked and sent!
Couldn't make it stick and had another similar but not as clean opportunity on the next lap and that would end up being the last opportunity. Kept up with Chris and traffic on the last lap started reeling him back but no more laps left.
