Helllooo! What's your opinion on SpecCraft? Betther choice than recent Waves Curves Equator or soothe2? Lemme know down below!
@GadesChannel4 ай бұрын
I have got all of them and my current choice is SpecCraft. I love Soothe2, but SpecCraft is better in my opinion and more intuitive. I bought Waves Curves Equator only for comparison purpose :D Only one thing to add to SpecCraft is Auto-Gain :)

Have you got Smooth Operator and DSEQ 3? What do you think about them?
@GadesChannel4 ай бұрын
@@FoliaSound Smooth Operator is not bad, but is worse than Soothe2 (and also than Curves Equator IMAO). DSEQ3... I'm afraid of DSEQ3, it's sooo complicated, ha, ha! :) Seriously, t has a very cluttered interface and I did not decide to purchase it, I only used the demo version. I'm very curious about Soothe3 now :)

I chose the Kirchhoff EQ over the PRO-Q3 and would do it again without even thinking about it! It has not let me down and everytime I open Kirchhoff EQ up I am just so pleased with working in it! Truly a great dynamic EQ!

“Oh no. The studio bros caught on to the fact that all the plugins are the same. We need to do something new. Quick everything let’s get out a ‘resonance correction’ ‘smart eq’ plugin no one ever really needed or asked for before someone else does. Just copy soothe2.”

Where Soothe 2 shines is incredible transparency in a sound when used with very low sharpness (around 1-2) and low selectivity and other tools usually can't deliver the same smoothness and natural sound when set similarly. It's in my experience at least. Nice vid, still interesting tool!
@FoliaSound4 ай бұрын
Yep, soothe 2 is still the king, but this one, though deriving the concept a bit differently, comes really close in terms of quality and usability. Also, frequency compensation is really interesting. Cheers, Hubert!

I'm absolutely loving using it! It's definitely going to be replacing Soothe for me. I tend to find that Soothe either sucks the life out of a track or is just too subtle and I'll have to grab an EQ instead. SpecCraft really does sound wonderful on everything I've tried it on so far. A+!

That's much deeper, as you said, than Soothe 2 can ever get to. Wow on the vocals! Plus it's less than a third of the price of Soothe 2. The sibilance control demo on their site is enough for me to want it Demo time. 🧡 *UPDATE* 1. One thing in the UI *really* bugs me big time. The listen toggle per frequency is positioned quite a bit above the dot, and gets hidden above the top of the window and behind the knobs. So you can set the resonance suppression high on, say, de-essing, but then can't audition it. 2. Cubase Pro 13 puts the presets dll in the blocklist as invalid. I won't be buying. It's no Soothe 2 killer.

This looks more focused than Soothe2 to me. Since I don't own Soothe2 yet and was looking for something instead of it that complements Gullfoss without overlap, this looks amazing. I get that I could use Soothe2 instead of Gullfoss and this, but I already own and love Gullfoss for a while, so that's not an option 😆 You just sold a copy, you should get commission 😅 Waves ... I've banned them from my brain. There is no Waves to me.

Yes it is. This is the one. Finally! Authorization is painfully painful, and on top of that, it makes you feel pain. But paying 200€ for a single purpose plugin is even more painful. Thanks TBT for SC, and thanks Paul this video.

Why does something have to be a “this killer”. It’s silly and ignorant. Reverbs and compressors come out everyday. They don’t ever kill something else.
@atetraxx4 ай бұрын
It doesn't. It's hyperbole. An attention grabber. To convey a message. It's not that big of a deal. Try not to worry about it.

I do agree with you on this. The plug-in world is a violent one. But when you're talking about a 200€ single purpose plugin, we might make an exception.

Haha it's funny that every new resonance / sidechain based suppressor type plugin its announced as "soothe2 killer / blah blah" this just affirms the excellence of the original soothe2, as a kind of standard. Soothe2 was a real "game changer", not alike every single new vst just came out recently haha

Just started to demo SpecCraft and I really like it already. So far it seems like a no-brainer purchase for mastering--as it gives me the ability to get a lot more detailed than I can get with Soothe2 when addressing resonance issues---which is my main complaint with soothe (which I really like). However, the one thing I cant believe is that SpecCraft doesn't offer mid-side processing?? Is this true?

Oversampling! After watching a bunch of Dan Worral stuff, I'm quite keen on certain plugins having oversampling as an option. Anything with distortion, and eqs where the nyquist might cause cramping. I don't know if cramping is an issue with spectral plugins of this type, but Waves doesn't have oversampling as a rule, and if they do on any plugs, there's no way to turn it on or off.

@@FoliaSound I'm not defending waves. I'm telling you that you didn't adjust the main threshold. You have to manipulate it on the big circle.
