This socialist flake Sanders needs his head read for uttering the words "I support Hillary Clinton". Also he continues to spout the tired old garbage about Trump being bigoted or xenophobic - that's horseshit. Yea like America needs socialism, ending up like Venezuela. True, Sanders is a dreamer, but he lacks the drive and charisma to not only do the job, but to even get to that exalted position in the first place. If you're representing America on the world stage, you seriously gotta be able to show your balls and know what approach works and exactly who your best allies/trade partners are. Thank f**k The Donald made it in because I will bet my left one that he will blow his critics away and deliver prosperity and enhanced security unto the United States once more. HOWEVER I am saddened to hear that he has significant investment in the Dakota Access Pipeline... I actually need to read more deeply into the exact nuts and bolts of all the issues regarding that though.

Amy Sternheim Oh, I think the next election will prove that a LOT of people have both the patience and the brains to understand AND get engaged. His fundraising alone is proof of that. The average size of donations was $27 and the donors counted in the millions. And he went from being practically unknown to nearly beating the anointed candidate. No small accomplishment when you take into consideration the machine he was running against. And he did it by being ON MESSAGE the whole time. They say Bernie Sanders moved an entire generation to the left. Lets hope that is true, and that they stay eager for real change in 2018 and 2020.

Amy Sternheim Sure he will. But the millennials won't Bernie Sanders is all about REALLY making America great again in the ways that actually matter. Great for ordinary people, that is. Great for the middle class, the poor, kids, single moms, old people and so on. Y'know, the PEOPLE of America. And THAT is not a one man job, it's a job for a movement. Hopefully, in the years to come, the things he set in motion gain momentum, no matter who runs for office. The great thing about Bernie Sanders is of course that people can check his record and see that he has been consistent in his dedication to those goals he ran on. Hopefully he isn't the only progressive politician with the Ooomph! to take on the establishment. His campaign shows that that is what people want, and his fundraising by small donations shows that the Super PAC's are not needed IF you can get the people onboard.

I agree. There is something wrong with the system, because Bernie's ideas are the ideas of the majority. Unfortunately, the majority doesn't always win here--as we see with the absurd situation in which Hillary Clinton wins more than 2 million votes than Trump, but Trump wins the election. Americans didn't "disregard" Bernie. He has millions of followers. If the system had not been rigged against him, I believe we would have President Sanders right now.
@hansmiseur3025
@hansmiseur3025 7 жыл бұрын
The mainstream media certainly disregarded him though, as well as the democratic establishment. Only now that trump won have they realised how stupid they were. Or maybe their donors prefered trump over bernie. In any case I feel like there's been a huge injustice done to the american people, even though many of them probably don't realise it yet :-(

We have three options to go forward: a) Go to JUSTICE DEMOCRATS to help Bernie rebuild the democratic party. b) Join the DRAFT BERNIE movement, to get him lead the new PEOPLES PARTY. c) If nothing above works until 2018 or 2020, vote GREEN! But first and foremost: No matter which path or tactic you choose: STAY UNIFIED as ONE progressive movement! No infighting between a, b and c. ;-)
@nooz5028

d) Stop shopping. how did all those corporations and billionaire donors get so rich and buy politicians? From people buying all of their shit you don't actually need. e) Raise minimum wage because all the profit also comes from cheap labor In short, there is only one way (well, two) to get money out of politics: the source (low wages and high consumption). There goes the profit, the campaign donations, and the bought elections and politicians. But since a livable wage requires a non-corrupt political system, that is probably not going to happen, unless we're talking major nationwide labor strikes. But again, there's hardly unions. So your power as a consumer might be the best bet. But yet how do you go so many people to stop being mindless consumers when the corporations own entertainment and everything that spews a consumerist ideology. I don't know, but might as well try A through E.

that's one thing i agree with. It would have been the homerun ticket. In the end, we were dealt with a hand, and the votes we casted or did not cast, ultimately led to the rise of trump. We often overlook the very first illustration of Sanders on the night of the results--depressing.

She was way too blind and complacent to do that. "I don't need to listen to the people - they'll vote for me anyway". Well, now she can rethink this assumption from wherever the f she is, while watching president Trump on telly. But I don't blame her - she was blinded by her ambition, greed and power (she'd make a good dictator, not a candidate in democratic elections) - I blame the DNC. If they're corrupt and stupid enough to try and ignore what this man did in under 9 months: emerging from absolute obscurity to be leading a political revolution of historic proportions, and the reasons this happened, then they deserve to lose the elections on all fronts, the way they did. The Dems can only blame themselves. They had the chance to run Bernie LEGEND Sanders, instead they ran Hillary and got Trumped. Shameful

What a contrast to the question asked on CNN about Fidel Castro! " said, condolences, do you think it's appropriate to send condolences, what would you say?" (WHAT!!!) Good to see DemocracyNow asking questions like grown-ups.

Nobody will believe it has been transformed unless you give it a new name. I suggest "The Social Democratic Party."

Donald Edward We did that in Canada...renamed the Party the New Democrat Party back in 1978. The leader was a fiesty little Scot who hit Universal Health care in Saskatchewan. It caught on and is now all across the country.

I would have voted for Bernie Sanders, hands down over the rest ! He was more aligned with the people than the rest . That's what we truly need to change the government to protect the working class , and get equality of life !

Bernie Bernie Bernie. Brilliant 50 state idea we should have every stated official in every state put videos of there job on a KZbin channel. Then we can refilter the ideas of the Constitution (good and bad) better.

I just wanted to point out I spent my holiday asking family friendly neighbors.. with everyone gets there news from different places!! I asked what they thought about standing Rock, collage cost climate change (lost my bee again second year in a row ). everyone has different info which makes it impossible to even agree on the problem much less do anything to change it!!! Change the news you'll have a chance...

Bernie, we need you to run for President. I wish you'd join the Democratic party because I'm afraid that too many people, like myself, would vote for you over any Democratic nominee, which could well just split the party and allow another GOP President. Please consider doing that if it is possible, Bernie. Everyone I KNOW wants to vote for you again.

I love you 💖 Bernie, so sad your not our next president. I have wanted this for years. I keep hoping for some kind of miracle like we find out that Clinton won and she doesn't want to divide the country even more so she awards it to Bernie.
