Hotel Rajaganapathy, a tiny eatery located at Arthanari Nagar, Salem is frequented by locals for its non-vegetarian meals and Chettinad style meat fries.
Carrying forward its 40-year old legacy is owner, Vaidyanathan, a gentleman who has been working the stove since he was a 7-year-old.

Mutton Chukka
Roasted with a bunch of spices and cooked on the bone with the marrow rendered into the gravy. The meat definitely has a bite to it. Rs 200. 9/10
Natti chicken fry
pieces of shredded country chicken roasted in a dry masala with loads of curry leaves. Rs 200. 7/10
Mutton boti
boti cooked to perfection, almost melts in the mouth. Rs 150. 8/10
Pigeon roast
Intense, gamey flavours. The curry masala made using hard spices complements the meat.
Have to wrestle with tiny bones to get to the meat! Rs 200. 9/10
Natti Chicken biryani
The flavour in this biryani runs deep. the country chicken has a chewy texture but the flavourful rice makes up for this. pairs well with the special, rich chicken gravy. Rs 200. 9/10
Country chicken pepper chukka
very distinctive, peppery taste. Rs 200. 7/10
Chicken chintamani fry
Simple preparation of chicken tossed with shallots and red chillies. A bit on the salty side. Rs 150. 5/10
