Lodicakes = idol, celeb, someone you admire, someone who's good at something. Filipinos likes reversing words. Idol = lodi. So instead of saying you're my idol, filipinos would just say lodi or lodicakes.

Yes Vee, to give you a context: 1. We Bisaya people (Central and Southern Part of the Philippines) can understand tagalog very well because the tv show we are mostly watching growing up are in Tagalog but most of the tagalog people cannot understand bisaya. We bisaya people are having hard time speaking tagalog, thus, we prefer talking in english instead. 2. For bisaya, the word "Kuan" is something we use as substitute to "ahmm" or just incase we don't want to mention a specific name of a person, place or a thing. For example instead of saying "We went to the place called Manila" sometimes we Bisaya say it as "We went to a place called Kuan". For a person, we say it as "I saw Aiah eating with Mikha in a restaurant" but we as bisaya we say it sometimes as "I saw Aiah eating with Kuan in a restaurant". So the word "Kuan" technically can be anything. 3. Cebu is the oldest city of the Philippines but Aiah live in a small island called Mactan Island and the capital of island is Lapu-lapu City.

"Kuan" is a commonly used placeholder word in Cebuano (Bisaya) that functions similarly to "um," "thing," or "whatchamacallit" in English. It is often used when someone can't immediately think of the exact word they want to say or as a way to reference something vague. It’s a versatile term that can fill in for nouns, verbs, or even ideas in a conversation, and the meaning is usually understood based on context. For example: - "Pwede ko kuan sa imong cellphone?" (Can I borrow your, you know, cellphone?) - "Ang kuan nga meeting ugma." (The, you know, meeting is tomorrow.)

But aside from being a filler word, I sense that sometimes it's purposely used to describe something abstract or something one can't express/describe precisely? To give you context: Philippines has about hundreds of different languages and dialects since we are composed of 7,000+ islands having regions and provinces with their own unique culture and language. To foster unity in the country, in school, all of us are taught basically two national languages which are English and Tagalog (more appropriately Filipino). That's why Filipinos are at least bi or trilingual. If you're from the provinces like Aiah, she knows Bisaya/Cebuano, Tagalog/Filipino, and English. For those born in Tagalog islands, they would probably only speak Tagalog and English. So most people in the provinces can understand and speak Tagalog, while the opposite is rare. Tagalog/Filipino is taught so that no matter where you're from and where you go in the Philippines, Filipinos can still easily communicate with each other.
