I have had these LessLoss Firewalls for 'speakers in my system since mid-December. They have proved to be the biggest success in my 50 years of continuous improvement in my system! I used to be typical of those in our hobby who constantly 'upgrade' components, thinking that was the best and only way to go. How wrong I was! A few years ago, I decided that I was done with this approach and started upgrading the mains power, the interconnects, the equipment support/isolation and now, room acoustics. Luckily, the starting point led me to LessLoss and their Firewalls for mains power made such an improvement, that I had no hesitation ordering those for 'speakers when they became available. I even ordered two sets as I have 'active speakers. Removing noise from the power going into the system and then again just before the 'speakers has been a revelation. I did not even know that 'noise' had been present. Over the years, I've spent countless thousands of pounds developing my system, but these LessLoss components have outshone any previous (mega-thousand) purchase. I'm an engineer and normally want to understand the basis of any equipment I purchase, but there are times when I just sit back and marvel at the new, improved sound quality in my system. There is no 'snake oil' involved here - and I have been listening to them for the past 6 months!

First sorry for my english. I have not much money for high end tuning and made All Things by my self. So i try to build this beautyfull Firewalls. I have only 1 round Filter per site and it didnt Look so nice like the Originals but i try it out on my passive subwoofer and it was amaizing. The Bass was stronger harder and faster i can only say, try it and Listen..

How do they lower the " Noise floor"? Until that is explained, these are definitely in the " Placebo / Snakeoil" category

So if you r spkr cables are biwired you would need 2 sets of the firewall

Colin. How can these possibly work with active speakers?
@colingray11744 жыл бұрын
Why Not? My active 'speakers (which are open baffle, therefore no 'box' noise) have external digital crossovers and normal (Gato) amps and 'speaker cable. Active does not necessarily mean 'built-in' amps. Hope that explains.

@@colingray1174 Hi Colin. You don't have " Active " speakers. You have normal speakers powered by an external amplifier/s. Active speakers must by definition have amplifiers built into or mounted on the back of their cabinets or, in your case, baffles. There is no practical way that you could insert these devices between the amplifier signal and the drive units unless you took the active amplifier apart and inserted them, which I don't think you have. The only way that I can see that these devices could conceivably "Lower the noise floor" is if they are just fancy resistors and they would therefore also increase the speakers impedence and reduce their efficiency. I remain to be convinced. The Elite Audio video give no explanation at all. Steve Steve

Hi Steve - we will have to agree to disagree! My 'speakers are designed on the Kyron Kronos - Active speakers - and like them, use a DEQX to drive them in fully Active mode. The two terms tend to be interchangeable, but Powered to me means the amps are in the speaker boxes. The DEQX (and therefore the crossover, DACs and pre-amp) precede the multiple Gato amps and from there, normal speaker cables, now complemented with the Firewalls at the speaker connections. I do like to understand how things work, but the most important aspect of the LessLoss products that I have in my system is that they deliver exactly what they claim and that is far clearer, cleaner and more realistic music. I have not bought anything else in the last 50 years that has given such an improvement - and I've had everything from Pink Triangle to Mark Levinson. cheers, Colin

If your speakers have binding post on the back, then they are not active speakers.
