They listened to the Arabs who didnt want more DP Jews to arrive in the ME, and the Brits blockaded the coast to prevent ships from dropping off DPs who were trying to get into Israel. When they ran the Mandate they did not help Jews under attack by Arabs and many Jews died at Arab hands. When they left the Mandate, they turned over their army bases and police stations to the Arab Legion. The Irgun blew up the King David Hotel aka British headquarters, so no it was NOT a positive relationship. People seem to forget that the Brits were not our friends!!

@@Sweethands4 on behalf of Sharon I can say that great lengths have been taken to help the aborigines of Australia. There is also corruption within the organisations that are there to help them. There are more laws that give them more rights than the rest of us that just want to do our own thing. The aborigines are definitely not persecuted here at all. My ancestor arrived here in Tasmania after the black line / war and my mother went to school with Greeks Italians and aborigines where she grew up in the state of south Australia .

@@Alex-yv4vr Hmm. Depends on what you mean by “religion”. I agree there is an immense amount of propositional rubbish around. But I doubt whether the concepts of Taoism can be called “lies”. I doubt that the experience of every mystic, and of many people who have taken psychedelics, is purely chemical/biological in nature - I know I can’t prove that, but I pay attention to what has been said and written about it. Their interpretation of their experience, once filtered through their conscious minds and cultural backgrounds, can indeed descend into propositional assertions which are arguably “lies” from a different perspective. That does not mean that the underlying structure of reality itself may not have a lot to do with consciousness and meaning, not just energy and matter, and may therefore need to be understood or discussed in terms of “religion” rather than just “physics”. I think it’s complicated - it’s not as simple as “religion is lies” and, say, “science is truth” (even conditional truth until expanded by further discoveries or theorising). I’d prefer to think that organized religions are bureaucratized attempts to smother great truths in foolishness, because most people can only cope with simple truths; it’s like having a chunk of gold in a treasure chest down in the basement of a skyscraper built of historical and psychological rubbish, and, as you say, lies. But that’s a bit more nuanced than a dismissal or an us-versus-them situation.

If Hamas surrendered and handed back the remaining hostages, if they are still alive, I have my doubts, the war would end. If they really were so concerned about their people, they would do this for them, but they don’t. That speaks volumes as to their sincerity about their people and how much hypocrisy is involved in it all,
