tl;dr: The 360 FPS thing is an input thing, it has nothing to do with the monitor's refresh rate. Longer explanation: The 360 FPS modding thing is not for the monitor's refresh rate. You don't need a 360 FPS monitor to reap its advantages. This is not about what you _see,_ it is about what you _feel._ If you split a second into 360 parts, you have more sub-divisions for precise input. This doesn't matter if you suck at the game, but pro players can get that 2% edge they need to outcompete their opponents. I don't think anyone can see the difference between 60 and 360 FPS. Eyes see at about 50 FPS. But touching and feeling works at 1K+ FPS, this is why you react so fast if you touch something that is hot, for instance. If a 360 FPS monitor feels smoother to you, it's because all the other components are better than your average monitor, not necessarily because of the refresh rate.

The brawlhalla has a new engine on steam, I think to access it you need to go to Steam < Library < Find and right click on brawlhalla < go to properties < go to "Betas" and by default it should be set to "None", but go ahead and change it to the Tech testing engine. This adds many of the special k features and automatically gets optimised to your monitor's frame rate.

@@typhoonbh I know! This engine is really good, but brawlhalla hasn't made a big deal out of it, this engine was released actually 6 months back and its been in brawlhalla properties since then... But the Devs have only addressed this very subtly in the brawlhalla official discord where I initially saw it. I have never seen this being discussed on Twitter/KZbin/Twitch, the brawlhalla Devs don't seem to make a big deal out of it

I'm not sure if anybody said it already, but on the "Brawlhalla adding this" part, I know (and have been taking part on) that a test program was given on the official Brawlhalla discord to those who wanted to try it out, something that was meant to make the game go smoother, and even if I did not know about the Special K controversy at the time I tested it, I did not feel a huge difference ... But I did not see anything like it since (it was before the implementation of the Anti-Cheat), so I guess they let it fade And good video, cool to see someone talking about events in brawlhalla in a more distant way. And hyped to see the doping tests at the start of the next BCX event.

@@IQuickscopeCA I don't think BMG really is ok with people playing with SpecialK and I feel like they let the possibility of turning eac off to give a feeling of freedom to the players, so the mod comunity is not penalized and can still let their creativity thrive, even if they publicly announce that it is not legit to mod in anyway your game. In the end, I think it was a good decision to only force players to use eac when competing.

4:29 i think its a huge simplification saying that all SpecialK does is even the playing field between the refresh rates, SpecialK doesnt reduce latency the same way a high refresh rate monitor does. however, Its understandable that you may not have been able to research the technical side of it very deeply, as you'd probably need a university degree for it. and heres where ill give you a suggestion, you could try interviewing people for information! i saw a few opportunities for interviews while watching the video: - You could've asked Kaldaien, the creator of SpecialK more on how SpecialK optimizes Brawlhalla, as well as the reason for his ban, He should be able to be contacted in SpecialK's Discord server - You could've also Contacted Foda (or BMG employees that may be working on the improvement) about their progress and maybe more on their thinking process of why they banned SpecialK I really like your editing style and aesthetics, i just think that the information, especially on SpecialK could've been researched better :)

I only recently discovered this software and I mainly use it for tweaks and stability for retro games since its one of the most recommended tools on PCGamingWiki and it really does work great. I feel like backlash developer received is uncalled for, from what I read most vocal people who flame him are part of multiplayer game communities such as Brawhalla since many players abuse it, I don't think it's fair to say it's dev's fault since he probably didn't intend it that way and obviously doesn't condone it but there's not much he can do about it so it's not a surprise he snapped and got himself banned from practically everything after years of harrassment. There's so many useful applications, tools and utilities people abuse with malicious purposes that never got big attention because that's how it always was and nothing anyone can do about it. In conclusion "Don't hate the player, hate the game." is best way to put it.

So... It basically disables vsync and prob teaks some graphic settings. Well that would actually count as having an advantage because you would get more frames to react to an enemy attack. Not a very, very big advantage tho unless you get a >60hz monitor and train your brain to get used to it. The server would also suffer more to maintain the sync between the clients.

Uhh. Kaldaien's main account was temporarily banned a few times from the steam forums. Hasn't happened in a while though. With the reason pretty much being mass reports from trolls. His developer account was permanently banned. Not just from the forum. But his access to games. It's quite frankly ridiculous though. He was just asking for some sort of marker on his developer account to be shown that he was banned. But the steam mods just decided to nuke the account instead. That whole drm situation was just Special k checking if you had a steam api dll(easily bypassable with an ini tweak. With a proper steam emulator such as goldberg. This isn't a problem. Special k works fine. Codex on the other hand isn't emulating steam properly. So it doesn't work. Kal can't even take that steam version of sk off the storefront anyway because his dev account is banned. They pulled all support forums and such away from steam due to these circumstances. Just trying to clear some stuff up here. Not trying to say his character was perfect or anything. But I don't think this whole situation was entirely fair for him.

Unpopular opinion: If a program exists on your computer for the sole purpose of increasing performance and quality it's NOT CHEATING. If a program alters a program for the sole purpose of giving a substantial advantage regardless of skill level to a player IS CHEATING. Special K as long as it doesn't enable some wall hacks, auto binds or whatever doesn't seem like cheating to me but it does INJECT itself into programs however so does Reshade so does that make Reshade cheating? I guess so.

Hey there! Ty for the good content, have seen some of your videos and all are pretty neat. Let me give you an idea, how unbalanced the matchmaking can be (for now) with crossplay always enabled, I'm a switch player, and I almost always get paired with pc players. After this video, I'm more than sure it's not fair if I play against pc players, excluding the keyboard mouse vs controller thing, just think about how the switch works and that I can (some times) play on portable mode, even less fps, more input lag, and a definitively lower quality image. How is it fair?! Ty for the content hope to see more
