My thoughts and prayers are with everybody in alberta going through this wildfires and evacuations to get away from these wildfires,stay safe

It breaks my heart to hear and see that these fires are out of control,some wildfires are being held and the firemen and women,forrestry crew,red cross cross staff,goverment,etc are doing their best to put out these fires,helping families in need of shelter,clothing,places to stay etc.My family and I have never been through wildfires or evacuations and we are praying daily that it rains hard to help put out these fires and that the families and their pets can get away safely from these fires raging in bc and alberta and that they all get the neccessary acommidations to stay,food to eat,clothes to wear,medicare etc as well as pet food/water for their pets

In 2015 Alberta had 720 forest fires but none of them threatened a town or city so no one outside of Alberta heard about them. This one started beside a city of 88,000 people so the damage was extensive. In total some 1600 structures were lost. Assume each structure was a home for 4 people. This means that 6400 people out of a population of 88,000 have no home to go back to. The estimates are that 80% of the town was saved through the efforts of the firefighters. No deaths except for 2 young women in a car accident.

people that live near forests are most aware of the dangers of any type of fire, at any time of year, however if they are being assessed as a natural happening? why are we not hearing about forest fire devastation, in labrador, or newfoundland, they are as subject to the weather as other forests???

My heart goes out to the people of Alberta and pray that God will protect them all. People of this world God is seeking our attention and we continue to zero in on climate change. I heard very few people thank God for saving their lives. WE NEED TO PUT GOD IN OUR LIVES. THESE ARE THE LAST DAYS AND THINGS WILL ONLY GET WORSE.

+ZombieFetish It was naturally caused, hence "wildfire".

Bear McBear it was man made. There was no lightning. Wildfires can be caused by man.
@peggyt12438 жыл бұрын
The vegetation was very dry. Just animals walking in the woods could have started the fire. I saw a video of how this could have happened. Alberta and BC have hundreds of wild fires every year. This one was different because a town was in the way. and fires do not go around.

fires set with a wind direction that would cause the most devastation, would be the strategic work of an enemy of canada, and canadians!!!

"The great fire of Fort McMurray would go down in history as one of the worst & most costly Canada ever had to deal with". Did the reporter hear about global warming ? This just the beginning folks. A little warmup.

I'm worried about another hot summer. #WeMustChangeOurWays to hopefully stop all these disasters (wildfires, floods, heatwaves...) We must reduce the green house gases we are releasing into the atmosphere. Climate Change/global Warming is responsible for these. #MotherEarthOnFire

oil extraction processes, dry and warm air, dry timber, winds, oxygen, and newly released methane oozing from the thawing permafrost...what could go wrong?
@peggyt12438 жыл бұрын
The oil extraction is to the north and east of the town of Fort McMurray. The fire started south and west of Fort McMurray. Oil extraction had NOTHING to do with the fire. Alberta and BC have hundreds of forest fires every year (not near the oil sands) but no one ever hears about them because they do not threaten and consume a town.
