Behavior issues can be daunting... but they CAN be overcome! We learned this first-hand when our son began working with his ABA (Applied Behavior Analyst) Therapist!
It's done absolute wonders for our son...
There was a time recently when our lives were filled with non-stop behaviors, and our son was truly running the house...
We were burnt out, frustrated, exhausted, and had lost hope.
Then, we began working with our ABA Therapist along with a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst)...
Everything changed!
We are detailing the work they've done for our son in a multi-part series on the Basics of Behavior... strategies used by ABA's to completely turn the behavior around!
This video is Part one and mainly discusses the ABC's of Behavior;
1. Antecedent
2. Behavior
3. Consequence
We dive into these and begin to honestly give parents a sense of OWNING their household again!

Consequences that reinforce the behavior will increase future frequency of that behavior.

Therapy should be about personal development. I saw so so many videos on this channel that aren't about the kid or student. Makes sense now after seeing videos about ABA.

There a difference between tantrums and meltdowns ! I hope therapist are not treating autism kids having a meltdown like kid’s having a tantrum . I looked up ABA videos after hearing a person on the spectrum saying ABA is devastating and give kids with Autism PTSD.

Wow, what about talking to the kid about what makes it difficult waiting for dinner OUTSIDE the heat of the moment? Finding solution WITH the kid? Are you joking me dude? This is laughable! TALK to the kid about what his concerns are around waiting for dinner!! Bring out the adults concerns about WHY it is important to wait for dinner. Find solutions together like a team. Dont treat little humans like this! Please! STOP! This is sad. Tantrums are them communicating they are having a hard time with a situation. Why are you guys punishing kids like this? TALK TO THEM!! find solutions together WITH them. Dont just impose it on them like that. Dont expect the kid to talk about what is making it hard for them to wait for dinner and not have cookie. Invite them for a dialog.
