Really cool! I had wondered if they were interchangeable. The only barrier then being that it is probably nearly impossible to find one. From what I have read or heard, the adjustment knob on 2.0 is really just a fancy long-throw on/off switch versus being an actual adjustment. I think that is weird, but I don't hate it. I am using 1.5 now on my Diverge, with the medium spring in place. Thanks again for the vid!!

Yes, the little holes in the silver knob have very small springs and equally small steel balls in them. I got a messed up 2.0 and luckily had some of the little parts with it. Tricky to get the springs in holes and balls sitting on top, then assemble so the balls click as you rotate the adjustment knob. I had enough parts to do two opposing holes and it clicks along pretty well now.

very helpfull Video! THANKS A LOT, appreciate it 🙂 had to remove the knob with brute force because the 1.5mm Hex Screw (M3) was damaged.... no chance to loosen on the bike. Than i removed the screw on the workbench from the knob and milled in a M4 thread with a new 2mm Hex Screw. Reassambeling was easy because of your Video. I also put in again the 2 tiny Steel Springs and Steelballs (1mm).

awesome video. subbed! my future shock 2 started rattling today. the plastic cap was still tightly affixed to the hub, but the hub's screw had backed out almost fully, and the cap/hub were bouncing around. upon retightening, i discovered that i now had a futureshockinfinity. unfortunately in this state it also doesn't stay where you put it during a bumpy ride... any idea if whatever mechanism engages the divots is replaceable?!?

Thanks for the great video. So what exactly does the adjustment knob do? When riding my Creo, I notice that the FS is already somewhat compressed just by the weight of my upper body leaning forward. I tried mitigating this by adjusting the knob but it seems to not make any difference unless I put it on full lock.

I have a 2022 CERO and the Future fork stem makes a noise on small bumps or any bump. No matter which way I turn the adjustment knob + or - Does the future shock need some kind of adjustments to stop the noise ? Oh yea there are 2 really small balls which fit in the hub. 2 of the 4 holes have a spring which keep the balls to make the clicking noise during adjustment. Cheers

Any chance you could make a video taking it fully apart?? BTW I love and like all the videos you have posted on this stuff.

Well, I use them at the moment, and they aren't serviceable in that way. If I take one apart, it'd be simply for entertainment purposes as the needle bearings would likely be impossible to reassemble.

Haha funny you mention it. There’s nothing on the market to replace the future shock and I haven’t seen anyone run a standard for fork setup since the frame has a weird cutout that contours to the plastic FS duckbill thing. I am, however, working on something to replace the FS carriage itself though. Will probably announce in a few more months.

Interesting video. Found this while looking for any way to disassemble the FS 2.0. Mine is blocked - it doesn't damp or move anymore. So I was wondering if there s any way to repeir this thing. If you have the 1.5, the only option is a heavier spring. If it’s the 2.0, I don’t believe there’s any option to adjust the effective sag. Probably just add stem spacers to compensate

@bruce6er
@bruce6er 2 жыл бұрын
The click is explained in the video and it does do it significantly when they are new and old; It must be missing the 4 balls on the metal piece that twists he replaced, so it's nothing internal or functional. As long as it adjusts I would prefer it without the click, as mine seems to have have the end between clicks. What you need to watch out is for the click when the shock is compressing, mine started to click and was replaced after about 10 months or around 4k miles of road use; the new one is much firmer which means they do wear out with use. That said the replacement, at least the first one, was done free of cost on the first ask, and was sent out quickly.

yeah - no thanks - I decided against this sort of gimmicky thing on my bikes due to this problem - The idea of having an integrated and complicated and proprietary part that will break like this is a no go. if I wanted this sort of "suspension" dampening - then I would get a Redshift or a Tranzx anti-shock stem. Does the same thing, fits on any fork and bar combo.
