Great video sam , can’t beat bike chat😂, I’ve only gone and spent more money on my levo , added new wheels now 🤦🏼‍♂️, going back to brakes I’d definitely recommend the hope 4 v4 brakes best brakes I’ve had freaking awesome , now am I brave enough now to change the rear shock for a coil , not sure I’m ready to take on the wife just yet , I must be well over 2k spent on my bike components now , think she’d hang me if I did

I got the low spec Levo 2022. The shock is shocking bad (silver) and doesn’t come with adjustable caps to change the head tube angle. I own a Kenevo 2.1 motor and I can feel an improvement. I got s2 and I am 173cm tall. Very happy so far. This bike is for trail riding and the kenevo to bomb done hills

Sam, go with the new rear RS ultimate coil, has the bottom out adjustment, plus major cost savings $550 US Dollor, I just put on on my 2023 Levo Carbon, fantastic!

It's intersting to hear about Hope. I've blown through two Pro 4's now, whereas my old BULB's just kept going and going and going. It's a real shame they started making them out of chocol;ate.

Fantastic build, being picky, I’m not sure the giant 50 tooth rear sprocket is necessary on an ebike, I can climb almost anything on my Gen 2 with a 42 tooth sprocket for lowest gear.

wonder what the ratio is on the cylinders from the TRP's, that's usually what makes the "power" of the brakes feel different. Just look at moto race bikes that run 9x19 or brembo MC's. I agree with axs shifter/derailur but would not go with a pinned cassette, a one-piece cnc'd cassette would hold up much better on an bike, or ebike.

Sam the Hope Tech 4 V4 brakes with the V4 rotors make these brakes look silly weak, true 1 finger braking in any situation.

Would you ever consider the cascade long travel rear linkage? with like a 170mm fork up front?

Hey mate I actually have a Cascade standard link that in going to run 160-160 not sure I’m keen to go 170 at the front

@@SamsBikes Yeah I'm only considering 170 in the front because thinking of going to the 165 link in the rear (with long cascade) since it lets you run about 25% less PSI for us bigger guys. Having 160-165 seems wrong :)

Hey Sam! I just got the Levo alloy comp, my height is 177cm or 5’9.5! I got the S3! Feels fine, super poppy and fun to ride, but I’m still thinking sometimes I should of got the S4! Just wondering what you think, as you ride the S4! Did I make the choice :/

To be honest mate at 177 I think you have the right size! Also with Specialized having 6 sizes in the line up there isn’t that much between sizes like the other brands with 3 or 4 sizes

Hey Jeff thanks for the comment! I’m it sure I understand your question? But I think your saying waits the difference between coil and air? Coil is just very plush and stable where an air can be plug but you can tune to be more poppy

Do you mean to mount the shock backwards? In general it is beneficial to mount the shock in such a way that the most weight is on the sprung side to minimize un sprung weight. Also it is easier to manage shock movement if the bulky side with adjusters is located on a fixed point. From a pure functionality point a pressurized reservoir type damper doesn’t “know” which way it is mounted so it doesn’t care.

When I look at the shocks mounted moving forward or horizontally, it seems as if the directional forces would be pushing the bike forward, and when the shock is mounted vertically, it seems as if the forces would be pushing the bike downward?

the stock pads in the TRPs aren’t great for everyday riding try the Trp sintered golds or MTX or Galfer you will be pleasantly surprised in the difference!

Also you should try out the freedom coast levers on the TRPs made them feel better and you can get them to adjust closer to the bars as well

Yeah, I was disappointed in the TRPs as well, I even called their customer service about the same woes but it is what is it… 😞

I personally just find it takes more hand effort to make the lock! Not a fan but still early days if I find a fix I’ll let you know

Hey Sam, do you have any updates about the TRPs? Did you changed the pads, any better experience, or still prefer the Maguras? Im just thinking to upgrade my stock brakes on my Levo Expert (Code RS) and tossing between DH-R EVO or MT7+HC3 levers...cheers!

I have no idea why, but my 2020 Levo Expert in size XL with a Push 11.6 steelspringdamper on the rear and a ZEB ultimate 2023 160mm on the front plus a 700wh battery, Saint downhill flat pedals with almost 500g and 29" Maxxis DD tires on the front 2.5 and rear 2.4 weighs 23.1 kg ready to ride 👍 (With standard alloy wheels)
