Love my SL and range is limited more by my fitness than the battery. It’s been a brilliant bike that has allowed me to regain my fitness (in late 50s). Nowadays I can ride as far as my friends on their full-fat e-bikes, though not as quickly uphill as the SL lacks the same punch. The backup battery is amazing for range extension.

Great video Sam. Regarding heart rate,emphasis shouldn't be on how high it goes but how quickly it recovers. Also if you are not using a wrist based hrt monitor I'd invest in a chest strap version, much more accurate. I'm in my fifties and found using live hrt on garmin head unit helps massively with recovery. I was always pushing to hard ,now I back off using hrt zones determined by my max not the preset 220 minus age.

So I have the same bike and I’m a little puzzled as to why you set your trail mode less than your eco mode? My settings are usually 30/60/90 and set the max equally. We did a ride this weekend in an unfamiliar area so I threw on the extender. We did 30mi/ 4400 ft of elevation/ over 3 1/2 hrs and ended with 45% of main battery after draining the extender. With those settings I was in trail 90% of the time. I only used boost a few times and at the end (last couple miles) because I was pretty wiped out. I’m very much about range and everything you have said so far about this bike (previously as well) has been spot on! Playing with the settings has been the biggest challenge.
@SamsBikes3 жыл бұрын
Your 💯 right, factory setting on the SL are 30 on eco and I thought eco would of killed me so I set it to a low trail setting. And I didn’t want people to say that’s not eco it’s 35%. Your right but can’t keep everyone happy
@willrogers84543 жыл бұрын
@@SamsBikes ok I will play with that. I usually use eco and have recently started using trail. Finishing most of my 15-20mi/ 2000ft elev. rides with 70% on eco didn’t make any sense. Keep up the great work! See what you can do to get Kelly’s to start marketing in the US. You can be quite persuasive. 😉Thx Sam!!
