Specialized Stumpjumper flip chip

How to "flip chip" on a 2022 Specialized Stumpjumper Comp Alloy.

I would spend the money and get the comp alloy, the only thing I've changed on mine is the stem, went from a 60mm to a 35mm, also if possible try a couple different sizes to see which fits you best. Thank you for watching

Not sure if this is too late, but if you plan to be a more active rider who will be going out more frequently, and/or if you're a strong or more aggressive rider, it's worth the upgrade to the comp. Notable jump in suspension and brakes, and a bit better drivetrain. If you're more casual and/or don't go out as often, the regular alloy should be just fine. Still a great bike. I'd recommend checking out the Pinkbike review of the regular alloy, as they break it down and give comparisons between the two levels pretty well.

Great video! I just did this on my Stumpjumper today and realized that the blue bearing shown at 1:35 does not rotate at all on either side? Is that something you observed as well or is mine a defect?

Had to re-watch the video to see what you were talking about, the only part of the blue bearing that should move is where the bolt goes through, the part of the bearing that is making contact with the frame should not move, if you take your finger and press it against the bearing and rotate you should see the inner part move, if it don't or feels like it's clicking or the whole bearing moves you need a new one, it's possible it's bad but not likely

Thank you so much for the reply! It's strange since my bike is pretty new, and all the other bearings seem to be working perfectly. Just the bearings at the flip chip link seem to be completely not moving, on both sides! So I thought it's either designed this way or I have a manufacturing defect. @@Hoosieroutdoor1969

@michaelnoah3795 when everything is bolted together there shouldn't be much movement at that junction until it's gets compressed, you could always pull it back apart and check to see if the inner part of the bearing spins freely, also don't over tighten the bolts, you probably only need 20 or 30 inch pounds of torque

From what I can tell it looks like the base model has the flip chip also
