Is it me or does it seem like they are unnecessarily skidding their rear wheels around corners to make it seem like they're shredding even harder? Filming is incredible though but maybe just a little more love for the trail?

They aren't skidding, it's called "roosting". Seems to be popular in videos over the last year or so though I don't really know why.

Also I don't think those trails are bike trails, at least in Chile, bikes are not allowed on most national parks, videos of mountain bikers "roosting" on national parks doesn't help. EDIT: I don't know if that place is a national park
