I was just on eBay and I found a wonderful site that has just about everything I need inexpensively, often, if you put 'jewellery making' the price jumps up but I just found an absolute dream site....I'm so excited I've just about got everything I need except for the stuff I need for casting which I will order direct to my Scottish address. ..because my workshop is out in the middle of nowhere so I don't have to worry about neighbours complaints lol...I can't wait until my finances are sorted because you are one of the channels that have helped me the most. I think it is your calm attitude, I never get the "this is a secret that only born jewellers are allowed to know" vibe that a lot of people seem to foster. With you it is like theres nothing out of the question, you just have to take the relevant safety precautions and carry on...its like you dispel all the 'smoke and mirrors' that makes being a jeweller akin to being a member of a secret society. Thank you Prof. John you are the best!

I always love your videos - ALWAYS! And, the very second I can, I'm going to increase my Patreon support. Isn't it funny how it's usually NOT the richest/financially comfy people - or the ones who could help without it being even a sneeze in their wallet, that donate the most? It's more frequently the non-especially affluent working class people - and even the VERY financially challenged ones that "get it" and want to be part of the support and solution. It's like those people really know how much it helps when they get just a bit of real care and support.- It's so important to utilize every bit of a resource to get through and succeed, but with flawless integrity. I bet that 99% of the people that subscribe and watch your videos could easily give at least $5 per month - and just don't! It's so strange, that people can take without giving back without blinking or feeling like it's not right. I don't get that. Ok, enough soapbox monolog! OJA is wonderful! I'm honored to support you guys, you are generous, and you work hard. I appreciate you, and you are a part of MY success. Who could ask for more?

What is 1% of 38K subscribers? Is that how many Patreon supporters you have? (I was just guessing).

I get that vise grips grab with the serrated edge but what about making a vise grip that’s smooth specifically for jewelry making? Would they work?
@OnlineJewelryAcademy4 жыл бұрын
I put flexible plastic tubing over the ends of my vise grips. It works great. They don’t leave any marks. 😀

Thanks for the tutorial. Great as ever. But is there another name for those Beau Bender Pliers. I searched for those in Google & Amazon & found nothing that looked like those in your demonstration. Thanks!
@OnlineJewelryAcademy6 жыл бұрын
I learned from old masters who emphasized knowing the proper names of tools. Unfortunately, many jewelry supply companies have dumbed down the names. Try looking for ring bending pliers. Thanks for your support! : )

OnlineJewelryAcademy Thank you for responding. I did find the Beau pliers but listed as Bow pliers. As you said dumbed down. 😉
