Thank you for your video. As an alternative, you may also consider using a small file may to chamfer the edges of the chain nose pliers.

Hiya lucy, You emphasised that the 'cheap as chips' pliers needed modifying; I had to do it on some with white handles. So not just budget tools may need work. Stay safe, Steve...

Good idea . Wow those pliers must be made from very low carbon mild steel or even iron ( not "cast iron", that is steel with too much carbon. I mean soft iron, add 0.5-1.5% carbon and it then makes various steel alloys.beyond that is cast a.k.a. pig iron names because it is so hard and brittle it has to be cast into shape to use it.and a "pig" is a large billet ,which is how it would be transported and stored ) They produce No sparks at all when ground .That just means they could be modified in a great many ways without issue . They could even be hardened or color case-hardened after shaping, by a certain set of procedure. Knowledge for knowledge .lol.

Can you use this sanding disk on silver after having used it on steel, or should you just reserve this one for tool modifications?

I use it on silver again after using it on steel without any dramas :)
