I have a 55 gallon tank with glofish tetras, a giant danio, and Cory cat fish. I was thinking about adding a couple or a few gourami. Would a male 3 dot gourami mix with a male honey gourami? Or what gourami mixture or fish do you recommend?

What tank mates can you keep with a female blue gourami in a 20 gallon tank

I recommended a 29 gallon/ 30 inch long tank in the video. You may be able too keep a female with barbs (non fin nipping),loaches tetras and many types of Catfish that are peaceful. If you want make a list of fish you have (or are interested in) and I will help you out.

Thanks the fish I'm interested in right now are tiger barbs, Cory cats, ghost shrimp, rainbow sharks, tetras, and can I also get a hermit crab?

Cory Cats are fine, get a shoal of 4 or so. Ghost Shrimp will probably be eaten/ harassed. Tiger Barbs when kept in a shoal of 8 or more should not nip other fish, but this will stock your tank heavily. Hermit crabs have special care requirements and have not kept or studied them. The rainbow shark is too disruptive for a 20 gallon tank. As for tetras most of the peaceful non fin nipping kinds are fine with gouramis.

gold, cosby, opaline and platinum do not occur in the wild. some wild fish are blue, grey, blue-grey and brown. I'm not sure if the lavender morph is natural or man made.

I have a 3spoted gourami and I caught it in flood and it survived for a year sadly it died 2016 😭

My female blue gourami is really peaceful in my tank it's a 10 gallon I'm getting a bigger one real soon ! She is with some guppies for 1 week already and no fish got killed.... She is the shyest fish ever and she likes to clean the tank (eating stuff off the ground)

No, this species likes to squabble with its own kind. Groups of spotted gouramis, will sometimes shoal, once they have formed a hierarchy.

Yes you could. But if the gourami is in the tank by itself for a long time it will must likely think it "owns" the tanks and will likely become aggressive to any fish added to its residence.7

I have a male blue spot gourami in my 29 gallon, as well as 6 tiger barbs and 2 cory cats. Would adding a female gourami make him more aggressive? He is fairly docile toward the other fish as of now. Great Video btw.

How long has the tank been running? I’ve been breeding bettas for years, and all of the times I’ve tried to keep males with females has ended very badly after a few months.

Ray Luckman well I really hope everything works out for you. You’d be a rare exception if they did. Even if the bettas must be removed, the 3 spots might not get along either. Ive kept betta females together before, but they would’ve all done better on their own. I once kept a male with some females, and the females almost bullied him to death, but I do wish you the best.

That would make him horny...which would likely cause him to heavily harass the female and he might become more aggressive. He would become more colorful however.
