Have this case for the regular 12 Pro and love it more than I loved the previous version of the Candyshell/Presidio Grip. Lots of people complain about the lack of rubber on the case but to me that's a plus as the case doesn't easily flex and sag around the buttons and the lightning port.

I've always loved the Speck Presidio/Candyshell Grip cases, but then after they are on my phone, I usually take them off in frustration fairly soon because they are simply too grippy. Great review! I recently purchased this case in black for my graphite iPhone 12 Pro Max & I’ve used Speck cases for years way back since the iPhone 4. I noticed the new changes to the case that you mentioned. I also noticed that the corners where the small plastic is of the case expand a bit when removing the phone making it easier to take the phone out of the case. Speck always knocks it out of the park with it’s cases!

I love the changes to this case, containing the buttons around harder material makes a world of difference in terms of fit and in a very good way. The use of a molded pattern for the grips fixes the biggest problem that kept me from going with the grip series. Great review as always!

Hi Peavey. So sorry to hear of your iPhone drop disaster. That's so upsetting. Unfortunately, even an extremely protective case can experience a profoundly unlucky drop...just the wrong angle or whatever. That's why no phone case manufacturer that I know of will guarantee that their case will protect your phone from drop damage. Really sorry about your phone, though!!

The other day I was in Best Buy and I tried to put the Clear Presidio2 Grip on my iPhone 12 Pro but I stopped as I thought I was going to damage my iPhone. I have owned other Presidio Grip cases for older phones and I always liked them. They did not have the same case as in this video. Case Selection was minimal for the iPhone 12 series.

Hi Richard! The Presidio Perfect Clear with Grips is pretty tight--you are correct. This Presidio2 Grip is not as difficult to get on...you might like it better. But just like the Clear Grip case you tried in Best Buy, this one does not have rubbery grips...

Hi Kristin, love this case, now the question ... how does this feel in weight vs. the mous case you reviewed for the 12 pro max? Does the phone feel the same in weight or is it heavier in the mous case? I prematurely bought the mous limitless 3.0 and the phone feels heavy; perhaps it’s the phone itself and not the phone case adding a substantial amount of weight. I wish i had waited but now riding out the limitless just because i don’t want to spend crazy amounts on multiple cases. Hi Eleanor! Well, the 12 Pro Max is quite a heavy phone, and I'm sure that this is contributing to the weight you are feeling. However, the Mous Limitless 3.0 is a pretty substantial case based on my 12 Pro Limitless 3.0 (you are correct that I haven't gotten my Mous Limitless 3.0 cases for the 12 Pro Max yet) and I think the Speck Presidio2 Grip case is going to be noticeably lighter than the Limitless 3.0.

Hi Mike. It is really completely different than the old model. It feels hard, smooth and has grip due to the ridges...but not due to the material of the case. I think it feels nice in the hand, but the old grips felt softer (because they were rubber) and you might say that they made the case feel more comfortable to hold...

Hi Sam! Good question. I haven't noticed any issues with scratching, although the interior edges are a bit rough. I ran that question by Speck, however, and was told that the case sides are not going to scratch the phone.

Hi Shilan! Yes, this case is really nice. Just enough grip for my tastes! As far as the Apple Leather MagSafe case, I don't have any experience with it, but my brother has one and he raves about it. And for the OtterBox Aneu, I am hoping to get a review sample soon :-) I do have the OtterBox Symmetry Series Plus, which is MagSafe (different that their regular Symmetry case), and it is great. This does seem like an interesting change. I put my phone in a microfiber sunglasses pouch when I put it in my pocket (I hate getting lint between my screen protector and the case). I always found the prior speck grip case annoying to take in and out of that microfiber pouch. This one seems like it would be better for that. Also I do like how Speck now uses the softer material of the presidio pro instead of the hard plastic on the back to make up for some of the grip lost with the tpe grips being replaced by PC grips. I want to try it but I love my Spigen thin fit so much for my 12 mini that I am not sure I will like any case better than this one. Nonetheless, this was a fantastic review! How would you compare the drop protection of the Speck Presidio2 Grip case vs the Otterbox Symmetry vs the Tech21 Evo case at a height of 6 feet? Otterbox doesn't advertise a height for drop protection. Though, it appears similar to Speck so I assume it would have similar drop protection. The Tech21 Evo case feels too thin to offer 6 foot drop protection let alone 13 feet. Although, it gets great reviews so looks might be deceiving.

The OtterBox Commuter isn't MagSafe, which I consider a real drawback. Being able to use MagSafe accessories is a really fun and functional aspect of their 12 and 13 series iPhones. Perhaps you might want to consider the OtterBox Symmetry Series+? It's a great case, and it is MagSafe. Don't mistake it for the regular Symmetry case, however. The regular Symmetry case isn't MagSafe...only the Symmetry Series+...

Hi Marina! So sorry to hear it! It's funny...people's hands really vary a lot, and it affects their experience with cases. You have dry hands, sweaty hands, etc., and I think that affects perceptions of grip as well as a tendency to leave fingerprints or not. Personally, I didn't find this case to pick up many ordinary fingerprints...but it certainly did show greasy smears easily...

Hi Sean! Really sorry about your phone...that sucks. Sure...I think there can be differences between cases...small defects or perhaps different factories making them. Also, there is the possibility with a big name case like Speck that you might get a fake case if you buy from some channels (Amazon marketplace sellers, Ebay, etc). But there is also the luck factor to consider...some falls are just really unlucky. So perhaps your second Speck case was fine quality, but you just had a super unlucky fall. Sadly, no case is 100% protective...there are always going to be quirky falls that break phones even at low heights.

I strongly doubt it. If your phone, or the interior of the case, is dirty, then the trapped dirt might eventually scratch the phone over time, but other than that, I don't think there is anything there to pose a scratch hazard to your phone...

Hi Bilal! It works fine with the slower type of 5G, called Sub6. There is a super fast type of 5G, mmWave, which has limited availability in the US and no availability at all in some countries (like China, where I am currently located). mmWave 5G has very weak signals that can be affected by something like a phone case, so this case could conceivably block them a bit, but I really don't know. As I said, there is no mmWave 5G where I am living currently, so I can't test it out. Hope this answer helps a bit...sorry I can't give you any more information...

That's going to be a more practical option than a clear case. Not only are clear cases prone to scratching and fingerprints, the material is typically more slippery and the buttons are frequently stiffer.

Hi Brad! It's really not hard to remove--just start in the top right hand corner, where the side button is, and then start pushing off that corner using firm and gentle pressure until it comes off. You can also push the phone gently through the camera opening if that helps. Then go to the bottom right corner and do the same thing again. The rest of the case will come off easily.

Don't panic! With the front of the phone facing you, just start in the top right hand corner (near the rear camera opening) and gently but firmly push the case off the top right corner. Then, repeat the same action in the bottom right corner. Once you get those two off,you will be able to slide your phone out of the case. Good luck!
