Joe was being vulnerable talking about a chick he liked after someone else brought it up and this stranger he met the day before said she's getting her oesophagus bruised in front of an entire room and thousands watching at home trying to embarrass him. She said she didnt know it upset him and was zoned out but she tripled down on the joke and continued by saying "I bet your thinking about it right now" after Joe is obviously not laughing. First of all, if they are close, it's fair enough. Second, if you want to banter personally, I think there should be levels where it escalates, like a light joke to a medium joke and an offensive joke. The girl just jumps straight away to an offensive joke out of nowhere, to someone she doesn't even know. Lastly, if you don't mean it that way, as easy as you can say, 'its a joke', apologizing is not that hard if you actually offend someone; instead, she just gaslights out of her problem, saying, "Sorry, I didn't know you were oversensitive and couldn't take a joke."
