I used a 1.5mm hook and the angel's head was huge compared to the sleeves. I ripped out the sleeves and reworked them using a 2mm hook. Much better.

Apparently, the density of your crocheting changes when moving from single crochet to double crochet. Anyway, I am glad you found a solution. 🙂

Sure, why not? As to the hook size, 7-8 mm is recommended for size 3 thread, but I prefer to use something much smaller, like 3-4mm. Hope it helps!

Wings are starched separately, on flat surface, and ironed when dry. Then they are glued to the back of the angel.

I'm on the start of the skirt but the head seems to be floppy. Is this normal?Worried It won't stay up. Should I start over And make the head smaller?

When you starch the angel, make sure you don’t soak the head, but put some starch on the neck and the base of the head. This should help hold the head up.
