SPECTACULAR HEAVY STORM LANDINGS Winds up to 100km/h! Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

Aircraft types in this video: A380, B747-8F, A350, B747-400F, A330, B777, A350, A330Neo, B777F, B767-300F, B757
Seen here are big aircraft landing during storm conditions or heavy crosswind conditions. With wind gusts up to 100km/h pilots were fighting to keep their planes straight and land their planes. Some pilots had real challenge to land their plane such as at the beginning the Air Canada Airbus A330-300 pilots or the Delta Airbus A330-300 pilots at 03:36 and the Icelandair pilots almost took a dive towards the runway at 05:53. At 10:42 the Egyptair Boeing 777-300ER pilots had difficulties to land aswell. Or the wind playing with the KLM Boeing 777-300ER at 15:09 and so much more! ENJOY! 😊

I've been in the avian field for the better part of 35yrs now. Having worked "hands on" with everything from Warblers to Birds of Prey. I can truly say just watching the various gulls battling to fly in that wind tells you a lot. When a bird is flapping it's wings it's hardest and isn't moving you know the wind is strong folks...!!! Nice job by ALL of these pilots in these challenging weather conditions. 60+mph winds are no joke and i'm sure A LOT of those folks on the passenger planes are quite happy to be on the ground. I've got an 11hr+ flight coming up in October. From Boston Logan to Honolulu non stop first class. I'm celebrating my 50th for 2 weeks over there as it's my first time visiting. I'm looking forward to my very first "First Class" experience on a plane. And how the A330-200 handles on such a long domestic flight. I'm sure it will be great as i've heard many good things about Hawaiian Airlines being one of if not the top U.S. domestic airline.

All I know is that some of us work and get paid a salary, whether we did enough to deserve it or not (I know I jam the copy machine every single time in my office), but these pilots prove that they earned every penny every single time they land or take off without killing a hell of a lot of us all at once. I especially admire them when they can handle a crosswind trying not to crash that tin can, and then go for a do over. Yessss, we are not worthy.

Also, can someone please explain to me. Why 747's have 4 reverse thrusters. And the A380 only has the 2 on the inner engines...? One would think with it being a larger jet and having stronger engines it would have 4 as well. Yet every time i see them land only the 2 inner are deployed. Thanks for anyone who can answer my question...😁

Airbus designed the A380 to stop without any thrust reverse at all but decided for extra safety to just add two to the inside engines. Using four would have added weight and cost and was not necessary.

No one saw that in 10:21 the airbus a380 did not use the reverse in the right engine? the rest of the engine worked the reverse. In fact the airplane did not use the engines of the edge, just the middles one

No it wasn't. It is the wing vortex generated when there is high pressure beneath the wing and low pressure on top of the wing.

I noticed that the planes crab to the right as they approach the runway. Then as they roll out, they use left rudder. That seems contradictory. Anyone know why?

Once on the ground the crosswind is having the most effect on the large vertical fin and rudder area pushing the aircraft tail hard to the left I.e. nose right. If no left rudder was applied, the aircraft would depart the right side of the runway pretty quickly.

Sadly this aircraft type is lost in time. There’s simply no way of knowing what the model is. Glad you commented though. At least it’s written in time for future generations. Maybe, in time, technology will catch up with this query, and they’ll discover the mystery of the enigmatic Emirates Double Decker (the really nice one).
