The Class A division of spectator drags at Motor Mayhem where cars must be street legal and are allowed mods, antique plates, dealer plates, and 100 treadwear or higher street legal tires.
Once it get's down to the final two cars, they do a coin flip to determine who gets the inside advantage in the finals.

Audi had him cleared so the lane choice was his, the cutlass should've went high if the Audi was too slow in turn 1. But instead he tries to go low on a lane that isn't there. And then just absolutely drills him in Turn 3 and continues to push him after he's already got him sideways, there is absolutely no justification for what the Cutlass did.

@@jayallen408 FYI, the exit of turn 2 is the slickest part of the track. With the exception of the guys running drag radials, we all have to lift right there or lose control. It wasn't a "brake check" at all, we all lift right there and the guy in the Cutlass is well aware of that. If you watch the finals from last October you will see that the blue RX-7 did the exact same thing to me. I could have gotten into him but I moved to the outside lane, drove around him and beat him to the line. With those drag radials the guy in the Cutlass could have easily done the same thing, he chose not to. If the guy on the outside clears you going into the turn and comes down in front of you, it's no longer your lane. It's his. Audi ran a perfectly clean race until turn 4 and by then I don't blame him for being pissed, I would have been too.

I've been wanting a shot at that Monte for a long time but the car wasn't up for it when we finally got the opportunity. Sucks too, pretty sure it would have been a fun race. Unfortunately, some guys have no respect. These guys are the reason our car counts are so low. I know a lot of people who would love to come out and do this but they aren't willing to risk a few thousand dollars damage to their cars trying to win $150 and a plastic trophy. Incidental contact is bound to happen from time to time but when someone deliberately and unnecessarily slams into another car, it takes all the fun out of it.

I used to race the IS (improved street) class at the BEAC Track meets every other Saturday, and some of the competitors were also part of the tech crew. They would build a full race car for open class and then tech it for street or IS class. Then when people beat them with class rules cars, they would get real mad and try to wreck some of the other cars because they couldn't drive their cars to a win even with more power and better handling. I saw quite a few limited edition and custom vehicles get severely damaged by their pride and ego's. We got our car (Escort GT) claimed for beating their AE86 wide body track car. We had 800 into it including the price of the car (100 auction) bolt ons w/adjustable cam gear, Rally cam, sticky tires, gutted, driver mod! 😁 But it's all good, we had 3 Escort GTs and so we built another one for even less from spare parts from the first one. Then we joined SCCA and began our real racing! So I guess crappy people can help others to become better by the way their poor decisions affect others. Cutlass needs to be given a couple warnings then kicked off if damage continues. My. 02¢

Ive been doing Spectator Drags at multiple Tracks across the Northeast since 2006. From winning events, to leaving with a wrecked car. If you're gonna chop someone then get on it!!! (its an unwritten rule thats actually mentioned in most drivers meetings) Having said that, I dont agree with the conract in turn 3 . Seeing how the Audi saved it, the guy can drive, and the car cleary has the power. Why The Audi wanted to run his mouth and confront him on the infield is beyong me. Audi was holding his line he got the jump and took the inside edge. Cutlass was a D bag move. If he can't take the outside for a clean overtake then no need to race. @@juniorthird7952 What I see is the Audi takes the low line going into one. He does drift up a little bit coming onto the backstretch and came back down to hold his position. The fact is that there was never a full lane below the Audi. The Cutlass tried to force his way onto the bottom lane rubbing fenders and causing damage while also running up onto the curb because there wasn't a lane there. He should have tried to go around the outside. Instead, he got pissed because he felt he got blocked and wrecked the other guy. The guy overreacted and he is lucky there wasn't any retaliation. It would be fun to buy a POS car no one cared about with the hopes of getting into a race with him again. Then it would be ON! The white car would exist no more.

It honestly make me mad the Cutlass just "gets away" with wrecking that Audi. Those actions shouldn't be allowed or condoned. I get you take a certain risk of incidental contact in these types of activities, but the fact he blatantly rammed and quite seriously damaged that Audi, and got to keep racing (the announcer even said the next time he came up, "we know he's not afraid to use his bumper!" as if it's a joke). I wasn't entertained by it. Not to mention, that just says the track's stance is "wrecking is encouraged", meaning less people are going to want to risk taking their cars on the track, and a higher chance of more wrecks and higher risk of injuries that come along with it. Just stupid.
