Somebody is making brand new distributors for the old Toyota 4AGE engines. How does it stack up? Not well..

Odd, I'm not getting comment notifications properly. To answer the questions..... I returned the Spectra, I never got the car to run with it installed. I re-did the seals (again) on the OEM distributor and re-installed it. Car still runs great on the original, and I eventually added an additional gasket to help with the leaks.

Would have been nice to see you swap out the part. It is possible it was bad out of the box. Just would have been good to rule out.

Saw your vid on a fb post about dizzys. Good info for the future of my 86! Thankfully mine doesn't leak and I have a spare that is also leak free. Subbed!

is that an egr delete on your 4age? You notice anything significant differences since removing it? Great review on the distributor and great camera work, most small car channels want to shake the camera like an earthquake for 15 minutes.

There are a number of guides out there on rebuilding the 4AGE distributors yourself, and a few places that also sell parts kits with new seals and bearings. Though you'll probably need a machine shop to drill out the original cross-pin on the gear. Not expensive to do yourself if you have the parts but not sure how much a shop would charge.
